Game doesn't launch
After the new update, i can't launch the game. It says: General error.

I've updated my drivers, even checked OS update and cleaned my system with CCleaner. Nothing changed...

After the clean-up, I needed to restart my PC to be able to launch again the game. So I could verify that it is well in window mode. Let's see if the game launch all the time or if the workaround is necessary on a regular basis...

Ps: Don't write things like "it's time to change the hardware!". Don't write to me these pre-packaged answers that I always read under every topic like this. The hardware is more than fine and the game worked until 24 hours ago.

i played it yesterday, i just restarted the PC, probably its the dumbest solution you are going to read but try that maybe in some universe it works

Restarting only worked a couple times and then stopped working for me.
I was having this problem too but i think i fixed it. I uninstalled my display adaptor driver, and then just did a fresh install of the newest driver for my graphics card. Now it starts fine again. Not sure what this update did but glad it's fixed.

Make sure you restart your pc after uninstalling the driver and then also restart after installing the fresh driver too.

Update: This didn't work either, same issue today. So now I'm trying to leave the game in windowed mode to see if this fixes the problem.

If it worked until 24 hours ago there was no reason for you to update anything or use the CCleaner malware.

"After the new update" is the reason you wrote yet you still decided to break stuff on your PC and do other random things.

How do you launch the game in window mode?
I have the exact same problem on my PC since the update of yesterday.
I tried the same approach at the beginning: update of graphic drivers and ccleaner clean-up but no change.

I saw your message saying that running the game in window mode fixed the issue so I tried to add the -windowed launch option for the game but it doesn't seem to work and the game still doesn't work.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I had the issue again today. I tried to deactivate the Antivirus as suggested above and, indeed, it fixes the issue!
Thank you a lot for the tip. It's by far simpler than the procedure I found on youtube.
Nevertheless, it would be great to understand why suddenly the antivirus prevents the game from launching...
