You really think TF2 will die in 3-7 years when its been going strong on steam for the past 16 years? pssshh, you dont know diddly squat, kid! halo has been going longer and the fandom hasnt died out, and they've had multiple games. Team Fortress 2 is the 2nd game in the Team Fortress series, no new official TF2 game has been released by valve since aside from ports and its still breaking old player count records

Yes I do. At that point it will be in path of exiles shoes, where the baseline engine will be so depreciated they will literally have to replace it .

I think the only reason TF2 has lasted this long is the failure of the rest of the shooter industry.

For example- if overwatch 2 was really good, TF2 wouldn't have hit that new all time count.

If by 2030 there isnt a new wave of skill based shooters gaming will actually be dead.
People will only play them to buy skins because that's what all these current games are about-- and to me that's a new hobby.

If only they had maintained a balance of choosing heroes, that is, doing the same thing they do in Dota2, a various arsenal of things including banning heroes Banning Phase:
All players have 15 seconds to vote for a hero to be banned.
A hero may only be voted once
in addition to maintaining the 2 2 2.

If only they had respected their audience by giving decent prices and not putting $60 packs for 4 skins. Take the One Punch Man collaboration as an example.

If only they had respected the audience that watched the Overwatch League and received what they deserve instead of denying them everything, the playoff incident is still not resolved.

new maps with the assets and things from the base game.
good stuff but blizzard says nove.avi.

2030 and the fortress lads will still giving flower AWARDS in the futuristic place, the place where once was their primal and glory but now lies the souls of the heroes and villains that would no longer be found with us.
