Game against bots?

I just had a comp game against bots. The way they moved, the basic names (Jake, Healer, Maurice...), the matching blank icons... Im like 99% sure they were bots and not just people trying to derank. Is this a thing and why?

i honestly think i had bots on my team despite the stats. match was extremely weird

Its becoming a thing... just in its early stages..

As for why, it should be obvious, look at how developers like blizzard treat their players..

I mean ow2 took a game that was beloved by many, and turned it in a stereotypical free to play cash grab, with the promise of being a pve focused game which they launched without, promised it was coming, then backed out of that promise..

Instead of trying to compromise with players in addressing problems they continually double down and only make things worse for everyone..

People are begining to reach a point where they are begining to actually fight back, by driving money away from the game..


This is exactly the same reason the tf2 bot epidemic started, it just continues because valve and the botters profit from it

What your seeing is people testing or using a learning algorithm to work out pathing for maps...

Pathing + aimbot is all you really need for a basic bot..

They wont, there's no incentive for them..

You can't make profit from botting in ow, like you can in tf2, which valve also profits from, which is partly why there's such apathy from valve pertaining to it

Oh without a doubt, based on the claims I've been seeing, it sounds more like it's a botting program in early development..

Ow2 will certainly see it, but never on the scale or for the duration tf2 has. For a multitude of reasons..

It's just blizzard getting what they deserve..

Personally i find it hilarious people would waste time on ow botting, when there's financial gain to be had from tf2 botting.

I encountered the same thing, they did like 500dmg and did not answer at all.
It is truly a pain and blizzard needs to do something about it in ranked games!

I lost 2 games in row with the same thrower or bots, 2 or 3 in my team. Comp is broken and Blizzard does nothing against those throwers. And we are talking about 500 damage total or in one game pharah 80 damage in 2 minutes play, healer total 300 heal. all 0 kills, 12 death or so, in a short game.

They won't, lol.. the writing on the wall is pretty clear blizzard ultimately wants to kill comp off entirely..

I'm sure this updated ranked system will be a step tward that.. just in what they have revealed I see countless red flags..
