Sombra rework patch
Full #Overwatch2 Sombra Rework Patch Notes & Breakdown 👾

Machine Pistol:
→ Damage increased from 7.5 to 8.
→ Minimum Spread reduced from 0.5 to 0.
→ Number of shots until max spread has been increased from 3 to 6 shots.
→ Reload time reduced from 1.4 seconds to 1.2 seconds.

Hack:
→ Cast time reduced from 0.75 seconds to 0.65 seconds.
→ Now cancels Stealth when hacking an enemy hero.
→ Cooldown increased from 4 to 6 seconds.
→ Hack has a reduced cooldown of 3 seconds if Hack is interrupted or if a non-hero enemy is hacked.
→ The "Hacked" warning text will now only appear while you are silenced and not for the remainder duration of the hack debuff.

Stealth:
→ Ability reworked to be a passive. Sombra automatically becomes invisible after 3.5 seconds while not shooting, using a damaging ability, or receiving damage.
→ Stealth movement speed bonus reduced from 60% to 45%.
→ Fade Out duration into Stealth reduced from 0.375 seconds to 0.25 seconds.
→ Fade In duration from Stealth reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.375 seconds.
→Updated the UI messaging to the Sombra player when hacking Health Packs to "Revealed" instead of "Detected". Now the message "Detected" is only used when an enemy player is in the detection radius.

Virus:
→ This is a new ability assigned to Ability 1 by default.
→ Fire a projectile that damages an enemy over time. Damage is dealt faster on Hacked enemies.
→ Impact Damage: 10 (20 on hacked target).
→ Damage over time: 100 over 4 seconds (100 over 2 seconds on hacked target).

Translocator:
→ Can no longer be manually activated. Translocator will now automatically teleport Sombra after 0.25 seconds from being thrown or when impacting the environment.
→ Reduces the Stealth passive cooldown after teleporting.
→ Projectile speed increased from 25 to 72.
→ Cooldown reduced from 6 seconds to 5 seconds. → Cooldown now begins after Sombra teleports to the location of the Transponder.
→ Projectile launch initial vertical offset removed.

EMP:
→ Ultimate charge cost increased by 15%.
→ Health percent damage decreased from 40% to 30%

Opportunist:
→ Removed.

Not gonna lie with that free 100 dmg dot I don't think she will be feeling the nerf to translocator as much when fighting dps/supports. But hopefully enough bad players will eat ♥♥♥♥ after trying to dash out and drop the character

This is hilariously bad, and will likely result in her actually being even worse.

Sure she's seeing a significant increase to potential damage..

But gives up pretty much every tool she had to compensate for her fragility.

They Essentially made her even worse in both team fight and clean up/assassin senarios.

The damage increase may look like a team fight boost, but she's going to get melted before she gets the chance to get the damage out.. which her only response to was to translocate out, which she no longer can do.. at best being a telegraphed reposition..


This isn't a rework, this is massive rebalance with the goal of appeasing casuals.. when it comes to high level play this rework will result in her seeing even less play, likely only ever seeing play to shutdown ability reliant heros, but even using her for that is made a less viable option..

The devs just confirmed in the Q&A that her new and much faster translocator will work as an immediate cleanser and even a CC breaker if it is thrown before contact. She can avoid Cassidy's magnetic grenade, Ana's sleep and even Zarya's Grav with it, which would make it an extremely useful tool for skilled players wrecking the exposed backline and much worse for casual players who only used it as an easy full-reset button without actual doing anything worthwhile for the team.

So if anything, Sombra's skill ceiling has just increased instead of decreased.

This seems awful → Damage over time: 100 over 4 seconds (100 over 2 seconds on hacked target)..

I hope it has like 12-15 sec cd and anything less is broken. It's awful to play Zen.

I wished they removed perm invisibility.

no matter what they do with this hero she will always be annoying...
try to get in your Mech as Dva.. she hacks you... you lose your mech and your charge goes back to 0%... so unfun

Nope, it's on a 6 second cd along with her Hack. She has become an extremely dangerous killer for backline supports that are out of position. On the other hand though, she can no longer traverse the map as quickly as she used to and she is much easier to kill herself without her free get out of jail card that was the old translocator.

This is actually incredible. You can choose to stop the support passive for a full 4 seconds.
