Serious Question: Is there a way to turn off chat?

I seriously can't deal with it in ranked, for quick play I am pretty chill but ranked is insanity.

Yeah there is also an option under communication in settings. I have all chats text/voice off. Nothing anyone says is worth hearing.

textchat is expendable and should not be used for social interaction, 99% are using it wrong

Do this instead of hiding the chat.
You still want to be able to see teammates calling out for healing/ult charges etc.
