He can’t kill enemies because his main weapon does no damage.
His Ultimate does nothing.

LMAO. The strength of this character is not in the amount of damage, but in his Barrier Projector - Bubble and ability to dive. Most often, you can jump into a splited backline, put up a bubble and kill a character, and immediately jump back to your team. Place a bubble in a narrow passage between the enemy tank and his team, thereby limiting the ability for him to heal, and for his team to inflict damage on your team. You can also split the enemy team with bubble. You need to be mechanically strong on this character, you should start doing damage while in flight.

[Silverlight]

Winston is the best tank in the game no question but he absolutely sucks outside of premade team environments with a purposefully designed team meta and voice chat.

In OWL he's better than any other tank for his barrier and movement abilities.

In quickplay he is basically the worst because everything he does requires team follow-up and coordination.

Winston's shield is a full sphere.

LMAO. The answer is an IQ level of 60. I specially wrote “Barrier Projector - Bubble” for you to shorten the text and not write “Barrier Projector” every time. In the game, Winston's protective hemisphere is called Barrier Projector, but it has the shape of a ball, sphere, bubble, etc.

Winston is absolutely deadly while jumping.
Winston is crushing every Defense with his Ultimate.

Winston takes out every enemy hero without armor right away AND he is capable to leave the action right away, these are taking INCREASED damage, if no armor.

EDIT: if dps are disconnecting from tanks, Winston is the perfect answer for compensating bad dps behavior

winston has very specific combos that make him very powerful but you need to learn to use them, similar to tracer he is weak if you dont know what you are doing.
Watch bogur for some guides, but tldr:
keep your bubbles for specific counters such as dva bomb, shatter, pharah barrage etc.
your landing after a leap deals 50 dmg, and if you melee just before that you can do 30 more and it cancels the melee animation meaning its free dmg. You can also charge your sniper before you leap and shoot the person you land on before you land then melee as you land and deal the leap dmg on top adding up to 130 or so dmg, most targets are super easy to kill at this point.
Primal rage is very powerful as well if you use know how to juggle.
