If they mess this up supp in most ranks will start playing way more selfishly, which will indirectly remove power from every role.
Could create a new turtle poke meta for a few reasons
One to counter all the new dives on supp
And 2 since healers will hold on to cool downs for self preservation they won't be capable of making their own space
Tanks will have to peel more and that means they won't be creating as much space either
Self reliant dps/tanks that can dive supp and peel anywhere are about to be OP again.
Overwatch is never fun when that is the case.
I thought so as well. They have to be careful with how they tune supports because it was one of the least enjoyable roles to play as in the first few seasons when in queue for comp and quickplay given they had the fastest timer to find a match compared to DPS and Tank queue times having 5 - 10 minutes or even more. I main support so I would hate for my role to become miserable again where it feels like I don't amount to anything, but I also don't agree with how strong supports have become. It would be poor game design if they managed to tune supports in a way where they end up playing more selfishly when they're meant to be the backbone of their teams survival.
Suzu, sleep, and Brigs bash are about to be necessary pieces of every team comp.
Not only are we getting nerfed, we'll have to play harder and smarter to stay competitive
The game is turning more and more into ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Instead of fixing unbalanced characters like Hanzo with random shots, and its arrow size is the size of a log, which is many times larger than the character’s head, they decided to go after weak players and weaken support! Brilliant! The next step is to ban good players? How many nerves were lost on supports, you sit in the queue for 20 minutes, you give the most impact in the game, but you still lose because of players who, be it their first day in the game, are against a hard stack. Complete bastards!
It's basically a thankless job that keeps getting harder and harder in overwatch 2.
To make matters worse they want you equaling the DPS in kills, to have the most healing in the lobby and to basically never die if you ever want to climb.
It's only a tough situation because the root of the problem has nothing to do with the game, and everything to do with the rapidly declining skill level average of the playerbase...
As such, this won't solve anything, instead it will just go back to the support players screaming "I can't play the game" and no one wanting to play support.
So ultimately it's pointless, as its just exchanging one problem for another one that's equally as bad..
It's just blizzard yet again pandering to casuals even though it's harmful to the game.. because there only intrest is chasing money, even though it shortens the games potential lifespan
