How many players do you think there are currently playing on Battle.net?
On Steam has only been around 20K max lately, which is pretty low tbh.

That might mean that Battle.net has less players than we think. Steam has complete transparency with their numbers, and no, 15K players worldwide might not be enough to even find a match in some cases. Rainbow Six Siege with around 25K players in-game can take up to 20-30 minutes to find a "quick play" match on any day early in the morning European time.

How many people played overwatch before on Blizzard's launcher? If they have no need of steam then why would they care to switch?

Obviously, they are trying to make as much money as they can, like every other profit-seeking company. That is why they could care less about the negative reviews. They didn't exactly switch to Steam; it was a move to broaden the playerbase. Even if they only gained 10,000 new players in total, it was a success.
That's a hilarious joke you're telling right there. The sarcasm humor is fantastic.

But that ignores the point that a AAA free FPS game on the largest PC platform is under 50k...

How many people played overwatch before on Blizzard's launcher? If they have no need of steam then why would they care to switch?
That's irrelevant in the statement I made...

Steam is by far a larger platform than BNet, and outside of the imposed measures ActiBlizz has put on the game, it can be downloaded and played by anyone on this platform. The fact that, on a platform that has farther reach than the other, it still cannot get something of a worthy number of concurrent players is telling of what people think of the product and company; which conversely means that the health of the game's population is not as good as people want to think.

Does this mean that the game is dying? No, but what it does mean is that not everything is kosher in the land of a competitive online FPS.

Here's a google search's results right now,. as per 4 SEPTEMBER 2023,
Searched for: "how many people play ow2 per month on battle net"
Results:
"According to Active Player, Overwatch 2 currently averages 1,570,000 players a day and a total of 23,544,632 active users in the last 30 days. This is down a bit from August 2023, likely due to the game getting a big boost from the new content in Season 6.04 Sept 2023"
that's right, daily peak around 1.6 million, now 800k players online.

very accurate method.
OW2 has 40% more players than Dota 2.
and Dota 2 peak is 650k.
so 650k x 40% ( 1.4 ) = 900k
and that site say the peak for OW2 is around 900K, so its accurate.

also my method say #1 game is Fortnite which is true, the most popular game right now is Fortnite, and OW2 is #9, still very popular game.

and keep in mind, OW2 on PC, PS4, PS5, old Xbox, new Xbox, N switch with crossplay.
You do know you can mold specific statistics to fit whatever narrative you want, but without factual numbers to back it up, it's literally at best just wild guessing.

Unless you are comparing whatever numbers you have against whatever numbers are tracked by ActiBlizz, you're using inaccurate information.

Your numbers are literally nothing more than simple guessing.
my numbers are accurate, from Twitch channels numbers, not the viewers.
and when you test this method you find it very accurate.
so OW2 has 40% more daily players than Dota 2.
the game is in the list of the most popular online games what do you think?

they never share must be under 20K since we all know how big blizzard ego are when WoW at peak they always share their total of subcribers

They actually have stopped doing that.

Also many players use their launcher also, so Steam doesn't account for that.
OW2 Steam users are only 2% of the total players.

Twitch channels are not an accurate means simply due to the reasons I previously pointed out, and unless you went in and audited those 1400 channels personally, using them is disingenuous at best.

That said, it still doesn't tell you how many players are playing the game, it tells you how many people are streaming under the Overwatch 2 category.

So I'll state again, unless you have access to ActiBlizz's numbers, which you don't, your numbers are no more accurate than me going "there's only 5 people playing".

they are very accurate when you compared its numbers to other numbers from other games you get 90% accuracy.
right now 900k online players playing OW2, its #7 the most popular game what do you think??

people who refuse to accept these facts about OW2 popularity they refuse to accept the facts about TF2 90% of the online players are bots, so all the numbers from the internet, from all sites, from Twitch from everything else are unacceptable, and TF2 all the 90% of the bots players are not bots according to them.

this is not about the feelings, this is about facts and truth, OW2 1400 average channels on Twitch because its #7 most popular game.
and TF2 average channel on Twitch only 40, so you can imagine 1400 channels for OW2 and only 40 channels for TF2.
so lets do some calculation to prove this method is 90% accurate.
OW2 has 1400 channels on Twitch and TF2 only has 40.
1400 / 40 = 35
and OW2 has 900k online players now, 900k / 35 = 25k
which mean TF2 real online players only 25K right now, lets check the real numbers,
according to this site
https://teamwork.tf/community/statistics
who count real players not bots, TF2 has 17k real players right now, so 17 not far away from 25 my method is 90% accurate.

feel free to believe it, or not to believe it, it's fact and truth.

Give me sourced numbers not from a 3rd party website that doesn't have access to the numbers and I'll admit I'm wrong about it and you were right.

Until then, slink back off and stop trying to say that the game is getting 900k concurrent players.

I also pointed out and you keep ignoring why the Twitch numbers are not accurate, but you just keep doubling down on it...it's time for you to accept that you really are punching above your weight class in this discussion.

your false claims are not facts
it's the most accurate method to find the most closest numbers by using all the available data.
and i am sure if anyone from Blizzard can see my comment will be shocked how i am very close to the real numbers.

There's a much higher chance that anyone from ActiBlizz reading your numbers would be wishing they were anywhere near that number...
