OW1 was game "4fun"
OW2 they trying to get even more balanced , each month, theyre working hard on this.
OW2 is amazing on ranked, OW1 was a mess.
Amazing? Not all the time. There's always that guy who can't play DMG that will always say it's tank fault, or the guy who pick support but think he's playing DMG, or the guy with tank pushing alone and dying over and over and blaming the healers who can't reach him because he's always too far ! Ranked is a great adventure when you decide to play solo !
6v6 was unique and vastly more suited to the map designs, team compositions etc. I ended up maining all tanks and solo tanking is not what made tanking so much fun in OW1, in OW1 having two tanks helping each other and synchronised made you feel 10 times stronger than a solo tank with buffed stats, nothing compares to how it once was.
the old 2CP mode that was removed + its maps were really iconic and the replacement mode of the robot tug of war literally suffers from the exact same issues 2CP has but now it's worse, it was just pointless to make that move and they have map pools now in OW2 so you get less content overall (unless you just activate all modes/maps in custom gamemodes)
game wasn't a microtransaction f@$%-fest.
I'll be checking it out next weekend with a fresh account simply to attempt a nostalgia trip in custom modes, might try to make up a OW1 reverted gamemode since I dabbled a bit with workshop before OW2, only that though, I won't play matchmaking because fresh accounts now have to grind out heroes...
also biggest change with OW2 was there was strictly a "no magic rule" in OW1 with character designs, as in no "this character can teleport because um uh well because they can" but since OW2 that's gone out the window and we now have half a dozen heroes whose design is fundamentally bulls#%@. we're talking teleporting, flying platforms that can lift a team wherever they want etc. and it's just a mess now, as a new player you'll likely rage quit over the amount of crap that can kill you without grounded reasoning behind it.
ppls says ignorance is a bless but i dnt think so because of internet.
let me waste 10 second to check :

6 vs 6 Overwatch was one of the best game. There was no reason to remove it to piss the older playerbase off.
The menu layout was all clean and minimal. You can either unlock everything through grinding coins, relying on loot box from end of the game or buy them with your money. Now, it turned into a complicated Fornite season cash grab crap.
There is so much pressure on one person here in OW2, it's more torture than anything else. On the other hand, if you have a great tank and the other team has a trash tank, you go through them like a hot knife through butter and the game is a waste for everyone. There's rarely a match where both tanks were evenly strong and I agree those matches were good. But you could have that too with a lot more variety in OW1. The truth is that OW2 was only made by Blizz to sell their Battlepass stuff and new heroes for money, that's the only reason, not the new gameplay ;-)
