Was Overwatch 2 the biggest bait-and-switch in the gaming industry?
Many people payed for a AAA game, that was fun. Overwatch 2 came as a forced "upgrade" to a free-to-play, pay-to-win, predatory monetization game. And of course there is no PvE content, that was part of the bait-and-switch to make you transition to this new "better" monetization tactic.

It can have a billion players, i wish them good luck. But it feels like a well executed bait-and-switch.

5 million actual players and 30 million alt accounts

This is 100% just them telling us how many accounts are made but they wanted to make it sound like they had so many players lol

Lol, hyperbole, much?

No Man's Sky, Gollum, Anthem, and dozens of other games want their ruined reputation back.

Warcraft 3 Reforge is a bigger bait and switch tbh

Wasnt No Mans Sky the biggest bait and switch? I mean, theres hundreds of examples, but we certainly and definetly can and should put overwatch on that list for sure.

We can mention Warcraft 3 reforged or the "pulled the rug out" EGS moves. There is so many examples it's kind of hard to say which is the biggest.

But it seem to become an habit from Blizzard tho'.

At least No Man's Sky eventually added everything they said would be there at launch for free. And have added more features/expansions on top of that, again all for free.

Its pretty much the opposite of what Overwatch is doing: Locking characters, skins, and the (gutted from what was promised) PVE content behind a paywall. Behind several paywalls, actually.

All those games had problems on launch. But that affects you, only if you pre-order. Overwatch launched as a different (better) game, then they tricked everyone.
