Bind mobile phone number to play this game?

Blizzard, I guess in Steam to play this game, you will not be required to bind mobile phone number? Just like you did to everyone in your battle.net

Yes need link phone number to Battle.net, not even to Steam at least like with COD, Blizzard wants your info.
I wonder if legacy licenses will still work or we going through the launch bs again.

Yes, when OW2 first launched 9 months ago, Blizzard required your number as a way to fight back against duplicate accounts. Everyone got mad, and they IMMEDIATELY removed that requirement. Like seriously. WIthin a week. You have not needed to connect your phone to play OW2 for a long time now.

I tried to play this game several month ago, and they still need mobile phone, as i understand all new account need to link mobile phone number to play game, only old accounts which was created before game release don't need it, but perhaps i'm wrong, and still i didn't able to play game without link mobile phone number.

Only for OW1 players, if you're new you need to do it, stated right below the system requirements on the Steam page in the conveniently unreadable font.
