Plans for letting players from Steam add players from Battlenet?

If you have your Steam friends private they won’t show up in overwatch 2 because the api blocks it.

I'm playing from Mexico, but i highly doubt this is a region thing. Don't you get the option "Add Friend" in the friends menu?
