fps capped to 60 since I installed on steam

idk if someone has the same issue but when I played the game on battle net my fps would be at solid 165 or even more but when I started playing here on steam my frame rate is only reaching 60, if someone knows how to fix this or has the same issue I would be really grateful

Have you change the fps cap in settings?

Make sure the monitor resolution doesn't have (60) next to it in the in-game video settings . Pick the high one.

Is monitor made for higher hertz/refresh rate or have you changed monitor? If so you could check the settings on windows to change your refresh rate. Or is your game on fullscreen or windowed/windowed fullscreen, usually “In windowed mode, the application shares the available desktop screen space with all running applications. In full-screen mode, the window that the application runs in covers the entire desktop, hiding all running applications (including your development environment).” Copy pasted from google

also the fps in main menu have a cap of 60 fps the fps increase are in game/match so going to main menu or opening options will cap the fps to 60

It runs at 240fps+ for me, same as on battle.net. I'd try playing around with the custom fps cap and vsync settings in game. Might just be they didn't apply correctly.

there is a bug where if you play on windowed or windowed bordless you'll be capped at 60, play on fullscreen and change to your monitors freshrate

Uncap OW specifically and turn off VSYNC/GSYNC (you dont need it in OW) in nvidia inspector, run fullscreen, set FPS cap correctly in OW, make sure MSI afterburner isn't capping you.

That should solve it.

Update the graphics drivers.

Sometimes that fix the issue. But I'm sure it's probably the monitor. Be extra carefull.

The game is not capp. It's either the graphics card issue or the monitor issue.

I am having the opposite issue, I'm capped in fullscreen and uncapped in windowed

It's only when not in an active game, so once you're in a game it shouldn't be caped, at least that's what got me confused once.

The steam version is trashcoded. I did some benchmarks with this workshop map: CRVKD
And found out that the steam version misses around 30frames of performance on the same settings. Even if you turn off the steam overlay, you still have much worse performance and nobody knows why.
I actually think, that the new dev group is just clueless about the engine (and the game itself) and this is the reason why the steam version has worse performance.

Nah, that's more likely on you, I tested it and it runs the exact same.
