Controller Problems
Have a problem with this game. It won't recognise my controller. I press start at the title screen and nothing happens. So I press enter on the keyboard, nothing happens. Press space, and it loads the save file. I get to paladin hub, and once again gamepad won't work properly (properly in the sense that I can bring up the pause menu, but cannot enter any sub menus, since the A button on the 360 controller, won't work nor will any other buttons). Tried deleting the setttings files in the documents/blacklist folder but problem persists. Any solutions? Thanks in advance

have you gone into the controller settings with your keyboard and changed it to controller mode? this worked for me

Seem to have solved it. I did this: I deleted blacklist doucments folder, then relaunched the game. it revalidated my hardware and launched. This next bit is important. Make sure your wireless 360 controller is on, before you launch the game, BUT press enter on the keyboard at the title screen, and not a gamepad button. Then using the keyboard, choose your difficulty, then skip the tutorial opening movies with the keyboard. Then when the actual gameplay starts, enter the pause menu, with the keyboard, configure your settings etc, changing default device from "mouse and keyboard" to "gamepad", BUT continue to use the keyboard afterwards. Then choose quit to desktop with the keyboard, and close the game down. If you NEVER used the gamepad during this process and only used the keyboard until the game was closed down, the next time you laucch the game with the gamepad connected, the stupid game should recognise it and work properly with it.

ITS WORKS :)
Dont delete your documents folder as this will have your save files, delete hardware setting and input tranlation (i think it was called that) and follow SenMithrarin's direction from there :)

Easiest fix I have for every game (And I do this in advance for every game I know has Controller support) is I use x360ce. It helps recognize the controller and all it requires is it be started once and configured before you start the game and you can never touch it again. Once you configure it, you can also copy-paste the 3 files for every game and not have to do a damn thing other than the copy-pasting so I am really fond of the fact that such an application exists.

I found input translation in the documents folder but not hardware settings, where is it?

old discussion but did anyone work out the problem? I have had this game a long time now and never had a problem. I reinstall it again after sometime and all of a sudden after the title screen when in game xbox controls are displayed and my keyboard wont work at all. I cant even ctrl+alt+del to close the game, I have to force a shutdown. not using a controller and have never had one plugged in

PS4 Controller Fix:

Discovered that running the game with DS4Windows (for which it plays fine) then quitting the game and closing DS4Windows, then restarting the game fixes the controller so it works with Steam. This only needs to be done once and the controller will always work, if it stops then just repeat the process.

Continuing the necro post. Just tried it. The Game doesn't like wireless controllers. wired ones work fine.
