isn't that an EA file?

Probably need to download the dll manually from EA themselves.

Seeing as it's called something with "D3d" in it, I would assumes it has something to do with DirectX.
Go re-install DirectX. Either from their website or via the Redist folder where you installed the game.

Mine is installed like this:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer End Times Vermintide\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010
Your install directory might be different - but the folder at the end will be the same.

You'll find an .exe file in there, called "DXSETUP.exe"
That'll probably do the trick.

...and before anyone pops in, suggesting you to just google the .dll-file and get it there:
DON'T!
Never just download .dll-files..

I tried that, but it did not work.
Thanks for the help anyway :)

DirectX Jun2010 doesn't include D3DCompiler_46.dll. Developers need to include it themselves where the game vermintide.exe is located.

Try to verify game cache and see if it download it for you. You can also try and see if other games you have installed have it and copy it.

If i found that file, where would i put it?

Just Verify Game Cache.
It'll download what you're missing.

Don't go looking for .dll-files..

NEVER download dll files from some kind of website. Copy one from another game is fine.

I'm sorry, but you don't just "install a .dll-file".
You install something that has the .dll-file along with it. Be it DirectX or some other stuff - never just a .dll-file. Hence what I said earlier; don't ever go looking for a missing .dll-file.
There are so many sites hosting "infected" .dll-files.

Figure out what the .dll-file is for - then go look up where you get that install file, that includes that file.

Sometimes it helps to restart your computer after that install. Otherwise contact helpdesk.fatshark.se

Sorry, i used the incorrect word.
I never downloaded any file, i found the same file, in another game on steam, Copy - pasted it and "installed" it into the binaries file on the game.

But, even after doing all that, it's still saying the steam client needs to be running.
Oh boy, this is going to be a fun night :D

My buddy is having the same problem you are. We were able to find the .dll in another game he had and put it into the correct folder, and then it was giving him the same error that the steam client needed to be running. I was looking for that .dll in my files though (my game works fine) and I could not find it. Makes me wonder what the .dll is needed for.
