be warned, fatshark are not trustworthy developers
they will abandon this game the second it launches and game breaking bugs will stay forever, and the game will probably be completely abandoned and no one playing in less than a month

seriously save your money, i've bought their past 2 games and just warning you guys, do not trust these devs, they are shady.

A quote from the dev's in another thread:

This is made by the same developers of War of the Roses and War of the Vikings, two games which were absolutely shafted despite having an active community. War of the Roses was abandoned with many bugs needing a fix, and War of the Vikings turned into a total sham, where those that paid for the hundred-dollar pre-order had to be given a bundle of various other games from Paradox as compensation for the false promises and lacking content. I'm not saying this game is going to be bad, I'm just saying that those who pre-order should be prepared for what's to come. Be skeptical.

Those were all publisher decisions. As a developer you have no what so ever power over those descisions. It is Paradox's brands, and they paid us to develop the games. We poured our effort into those games. Of course we wanted to continue with both series, But Paradox choose to take over the development in-house at Paradox, a strategic descision on their part. After that we had nothing to do with it. The pre-order thing they did was their marketing, which was a bold move on their part. We had no say in that either.

TL;DR - Paradox Interactive published the last games and didn't let them develop any more. This game will be self published by the dev team.

Well I'm gonna wait a few months and see what happens. But it seems like this game may have a brighter future. Paradox really only cares about there singlepplayer games so that was expected. Now they are not involved with this product as far as I know.

I bought Krater shortly after it came out (Fatshark game). Cost me $15 and I sunk 90+ hours into it. The game worked fine for me.

Lead and Gold had a lot of Fatsharks updates in it. it had an active community AND patching, until the community was so non-existent it was useless to continue like that. and most people liked the game. All games Fatshark themselves have published and developed, have been mediocre but still, good games with active communities. not my favourites, but WORTH their money. not like some AAA titles who claim to be worth the money, but they arent.

I think pretty much everyone forgot that game, there was barely any players when it launched.

I am cautious enough, but this game looks pretty good.

I forgot Lead and Gold too and i played it quite some time and had my fun...
Let's hope this one's being treated better by the community and the devs, looks promising.

To be fair,
- Paradox is the publisher for Lead&Gold.
- One of our devs did a pro bono patch on his own spare time to Lead&Gold more than 3 years after it's initial launch.

What had made doing anything for vanilla Lead&Gold (except for the publisher situation) a bit tricky is that it's also made on an old engine that noone at the company still works with, so it just hasen't materalized despite having been brought up internally a number of times. I guess it's no consolation for you, but the L&G IP returns to our ownership this year. We have no current plans of working on _anything_ but Vermintide for the forseeable future, but at least this makes it _possible_ for us to revisit the IP should vermintide be a great success and we're able to expand.

i bought 2 previous fat shark games before. so don't buy into the immediate hype, this game won't be worth 10 dollars 1 week after launch

Just checked except for Hamilton's Great Adventure and Krater all their other games were published by someone else publishers have a lot more power than most people know and while admittedly I have not had much experience in their own self published games I believe they will stay active with this game given how much they have sunk into it.
