Well I wish this game has LAN-support & splitscreen support but I have a feeling it's going to be only pure online multiplayer to prevent piracy.

In all seriousness though, there is no local co-op for the PC version. There might be for the consoles, but it's unconfirmed. I don't know why they decided this especially with big picture and steam machines being a thing, couch co-op is a great feature since it's not really that unheard of for people to still play in the same room as other people.

They are a very small team from what I understood. Splitscreen requires a lot of work (you have to rework all the UI) and I think it would be hard to understand what's on screen if splitted.

I would be about it if it had some split screen especially 4 player split. I actually have friends we play games at the house trust me it's a thing probably the reason board games and card games still exist. I will support the game when they decide to support split screen. Fun, games, hobbies, and friends should not require an internet connection.


FYI the excuses posted here for lack of split screen are completely wrong It is not a huge feature, having an offline game does not make a game more profitable for developers. Just a bunch of excusatory and apologetic crap for excluding an obviously required feature.

I swear people would excuse some of the most basic missing features. I bet if it didn't support 1080p or AA there would be people explaining that one away also. Why? just because you do not like a feature. If the game is playing off a situation that it is clearly meant for it, why not include it.

Yeah, split-screen 4-player couch co-op is very often the missing feature that keeps me from buying a game. Definitely true in this case. If they add it I will buy in a heartbeat.

i would also enjoy this. i often forget while playing with mouse/key. my controller will vibrate on my desk because it works for vermintide too. so itd be cool to splitscreen on a computer for the first time, and actualy be able to use my controller for something other than dark souls

I know it's 2 years late but I would also enjoy local co-op features. My sister is visiting and she really would like to play co-op games with me. It's either this or COD Black Ops 3 which I really don't want to play but it's one of the few games on the market that they bothered having local co-op. Plus, she's a big fan for some reason.

I would love to introduce her to this kinda nerd stuff, but I guess it's just too much to ask. I do know why they don't put in local co-op in most cases: it forces people to go online and requires people to link together multiple consoles/PCs. Which means that it's contained to people that have the money to buy a console in the first place. More people buying consoles, more money overall.

I doubt the Vermintide team didn't patch this in because of a lack of funds. How many copies has this sold by now? 600,000?
