also, i'm not too sure about a mapeditor (even though i would highly appriciate one) becuse of the complexity of the levels.
from what i#ve seen in the trailers so far, there werent 2 buildings that looked too similar, making it hard to belive we getan easy drag/drop map editor.
also something i would say makes this diffrent to Left 4 dead and/or CoD zombie mode:
i dont think our "heroes" are running from the skaven, i would rather say they're hunting.
maybe because i cant imagine a Firemage, a Witchhunter or a Dwarf running. but i cant imagine this a running scenario.
might be just a minor diffrence, but for me, its a huge one.
In essence a bit like Gauntlet if you make it impossible to complete which if you didn't know how to do so in essence was exactly what that game was.
as said, for one its just minor, but for me who gets sucked into a game while playing, it gives a whole nother level of feelin (if i'm right with my idea behind it)
gotta say though, i dont kniow much about the End time in Warhammer Fantasy. So i might be completly wrong.
can we get a Professional here who knows the end time lore? Anyone?
Another example would be a bit like a more reflex twitch based FPS Smite game with more limited class selection in a survival game play mode rather than MOBA.
Cod zombie mode is a time management arena therfore not what this is.
That or it might be more like Gauntlet except with a ending removed where you have plenty of options on paths to take, but your eventually going to die to the evil that lurks around the next corner somewhere because the odds are stacked against you.
I loved Gauntlet for the record such a well done co-op game experience Sega Genesis version in particular was great because it added RPG stat/equipment elements to the game and had a PVP mode as well that was absolutely great.
That seems to be pretty much the closest...
We have seen a lot of comparisons to L4D which is flattering since it is definitely on of the best co-op game out there and a game I personally like a lot. The main thing with Left 4 Dead that we like is the strong focus on cooperative action.
I always hate if there are some random enemies that just have a special ability you cant do anything against without the assitance of someone else. That might make sense at some degree but not in a game that is literally a power fantasy where you otherwise can slaughter dozens of thousand enemies.
Good aspects of L4D though were limited resources and "inventory" capacity where it made sense to communicate and that not everyone had the same item with him.
Also I do hate map-designs that have a timer, some basic triggers and make you collect fuel or whatever.
