What are the best crowd clearing weapons for each hero?
It seems most of the players im grouped with go for the high damage, single target weapons, which leaves us vulnerable to being overwhelmed by scavenslave rushes.

I want to group up as a hero who focuses on removing large numbers of small scavens. What are the best weapons to use for this purpose?

Dwarf 2h Hammer charged attack is absolutely DEVASTATING if you can time the charge properly - Hammer has very VERY high knockback and high damage, basically every time you charged attack you are also getting a free push at the same time. AMAZING for clearing hordes of small rats, and the knockback is so high it even makes Storm Vermin stumble when hit.

I would tie a Scarce+ rapier (light attack kiting,) or any level of the greatsword (Heavy attack plowing,) for the witch hunter.

A masterwork crossbow is also incredible at crowd-clearing in corridor fights, due to functioning like a pump action crossbow with 5 body piercing shot... With heal on hit, this sort of hallways sweeping will trigger your regeneration VERY frequently.

Soldier - Shield + Blunderbuss (Pen. Bonus makes it a killing machine)

Dwarf - Shield + Shotgun (Same as before)

Elf - Dual Swords + Swift Bow (Charge attack constantly and spam left click)

Witchhunter - Claymore + Crossbow (With Reload Perk) (Charge attack, become helicopter. Also not related but the Repeater Pistol sucks)

Witch - Flamesword + Conflagration (DoT hell)

Dwarf 2 handed axe or hammer(i personally prefer my axe) and Grudgebringer shotgun. It doesn't have the best spread, but once you figure it out, you'll be killing hordes of skaven in little to no time. I only have a blue version, but i've never been beaten in damage dealt while using it.

Witch - For Witch the best weapon for horde clearing is the Beam Staff, no need to argue. The normal attack (not the beam) is devastating at short range, but overcharge quick. Still the best one.

Dwarf - Dual pistol secondary attack charge and deliver a blast similar to the beam staff so yeah...

Elf - Huh... None... I mean you can use Hagbane Bow but its not that great, and beside fast one targets weapons beside that...

Witch Hunter - Yeah claymore may be good, secondary shot from repeater rifle is efficient too, but chew amno fast.

Soldier - Blunderbuss

I would not recommend the 2 handed axe. It has only 2 stamina shields and a narrow swinging arch. Great damage, but very little knockback. It is in every way inferior to the hammer.

If you want maximum crowd killing, just pick any twohander, or dual swords for elf. For witch hunter the rapier is also a good choise, though it's more focused on keeping everything staggered than killing them fast. For bright wizard I can't stress enough how bad an idea it is to use the flaming sword as it turns the entire battle field into one big fire which makes it impossible to tell what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on, so just use the regular sword.

There is a sword for bright mage that has headshot on vertical swing chsrge attack... yea.. headshot city is real place.

Someone on reddit said the charge attack on weapon+shield doens't have a limit on how much skaven it can hit, making it superior to a great hammer against REALLY large numbers of rats. Me, I'm still using my exotic great hammer on nightmare and mowing down hordes with little problems.

I still haven't found drakefire pistols, but they seem pretty good at crowd clearing too. Does the charged attack deal friendly fire in nightmare+?

Only ranged attacks and bombs have ff.

Two handed hammer for both dwarf and soldier :D and to be fair if you can aim for the necks of the hordes with the Elfs dual sword stance you can literlly walk through them http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/396675411358178503/E6D23586CA163B75F80A9A3F3E8845D07A467289/ izi elf carry

Two-handed sword for soldier. The normal attack hits multiple rats, the charged attack hits all the rats. You don't even NEED the charged attack TBH, except for armored targets and the Rat Ogre.. You can easily defeat an entire skaven slave ambush head on with just the two-handed sword's regular swing.

Slave hordes are easy. Orange 2-handed sword takes 3 normal hits to kill a regular skaven. That's garbage.
