Wheat and Chaff? Is it broken?
How are people playing this? I know some have gotten past it but the level seems broken compared to ones just before it.
I can play every previous level on hard or above to completion. And most of them I can even use bots. And this was before they healed themselves correctly in the recent update.

But in Wheat and Chaff on easy we still can't get to the second sack of food.
I'm using a level 19 WayWatcher with an assortment of blue weapons. Mostly a blue Wildwood Hagbane to headshot and gas everything around the target. That usually puts myself on the highest damage and kills in almost every group I've tried playing with. Expect those that have a legendary. And of course they still die before me. So I don't think this has anything to do with a 12 year old's idea on "Git Gud".

Right from the start we get an Ogre, a swarm, one or two ninja rats, and before we can finish off any of those off, yet another swarm mixed with machine guns and those hook rats that eventually show up to make it impossible to finish anything off.
And so often with the Ogre pushing us into the hook rats. Or knocking us away from saving allies.

Oh and meanwhile we are supposed to be carry/dropping wheat.

So how are people finishing this level at all?
Are there places to avoid that trigger more swarms? Because right now it's just not playable for anyone I've teamed up with in the 30+ attempts. :fmad:

Here I was hoping I wouldn't get bored of this game so soon. But now I'm stuck with the 5 minute smuggler run's on nightmare yet again for the easiest loot options and fusing things in the forge. Because nightmare on that is easy compared to this. :fscared:


So what do you think? Is this level broken right now?
To me it's a progress ending wall. I expect to see that in games using micro transactions or pay to win. But this isn't anything like those.

I had a problems with that mission on easy, but i played it on normal with random ppl, and we did it. We started from left side, 1 pesron was carring items, and other ones was protecting him.

i succeed that mision once and yeah its the hardess in game the second one is the white rat (the last one). I am pretty sure that mission is broken since, well you need luck on your side to make the enemies spawn less. That and the stupid ammount of special that spawn in that level too. On my successfull run we face 3 ogre speak about nonsense

2 right 2 left the first group to finish joins the other one. 4v1 the ogre, profit !

I think there was a post from one of the devs somewhere saying that something about that map isn't working as intended. I can't seem to find it now though.
Maybe someone else will provide a link.

I don't mind a challenge, but this level is an unreasonably high difficulty spike. Ogre(s), endless swarms of rats, and long distances to travel equals a bad time. The main killer is getting separated, so with proper communication it's probably not that bad. But man, it's a pub stomper (coughWhiteRatDestroyerOfPubscough). I did it once on easy, and now I avoid it like the plague.

It will get fixed or tweaked, as far as I've understood. The problem is that there's no quiet moment, and the map features constant waves and even quite a high number of Stormvermin. It's doable, of course, but on our original playthrough it felt like the toughest map out of all of them just because of the fact that it offers no breathers :P

It's not like say, Black powder or supply run where you have waves but small pauses in between which allow you to move and heal etc.

This mission takes like 4 mins to finish on Nightmare it is quite fun tho Black powder is shorter.

My group once had a rat ogre spawn on that map...during the opening cinematic. So it's beating us before we can move, and when we finally could we were all around half health.

That being said, I have completed it on Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. It's a little tough, but you just need to keep moving and stay together. Make sure you have good ways to deal with Stormvermin (crossbows or maces), have two people grab sacks and just keep throwing them to move quickly while two other people protect them.

You can move during the Opening Cinematic.
Press Enter then Escape and you can fight the Rat Ogre during it.

When I posted a similar comment, one of the devs stepped in and said that they were working on balancing issues.

I finally got past this level, but I can't get the last level done (White Rat?). I have to play with randoms because the bots are so terrible, and I'm having no luck whatsoever.

I played it on hard with 3 other players and the Oger spawned on the middle of the market. I mean just poof, plob etc. After 10 seconds 2 Guttlers. The RNG is broken in this game and so is the spawn system for specials.

I loved this map so much. So hectic and awesome. Non stop action goodness. And I've only played it on normal so far. Can't wait to try it out on hard later.

I saw one spawn right in front of me as I was walking. When I backed off stormvermin spawned behind me.

Thanks I'll keep an eye out for it. Hopefully soon they get a smoother difficulty experience between levels.
I do understand that some like hard levels. And so do I. But it has it's place.
