Plague Doctor Class? Healer Topic
I have thought of buying this game for a while, might soon but it would interest me more if there was a healer class.

I am not fully versed in the Warhammer Universe so I don't want something that would break the lore. From the vibes that this game has given me, I don't see why a class fitting the "Plague Doctor" motif couldn’t work.

Everything looks very bleak and with the Vermin pestilence I could see a Plague Doctor trying to fight back the hordes, probably with poisonous concoctions and lacerating knives.

I have read some other posts here about how healers in this universe aren't well known to rely on magic. I don’t know if this is true or not.

Anyway that's just what I could see being utilized.

Indeed there are but there are no plague doctors.
A healer class would likly break the game as healing is meant to be a limited resource, however a buffing/support class could work.

You could have multiple staves like the mage with a couple of speacial skills on them.
Using a skill burns mana, when not casting a skill mana slowly regenrates.

i.e. while channaling skill A on staff A your team gets life steal, channel skill 2 on staff a and ur team gets 40% extra dmg.

while channaling skill A on staff B your team gets 30% extra stanima, casting skill B on staff B knocksback all enermies around your allies and knocks off gutter runners/packrats.

Do you even know what a plague doctor historically is? A doctor that treated the plague.

Take your garden variety Physician (an actual class in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay) put a plague mask (a creepy looking mask they wore in the mistaken belief it kept the plague off them) on him and congratulations: you have a plague doctor.

I'm not for or against something like that in game. But point in fact, it's totally appropriate to WHF and Vermintide. A hell of a lot more applicable than playable Vampires and Chaos Warriors, at any rate.

Healer? I don't think so. But I could get behind a idea of Damage Over Time Character.

Like, let's say, a plague doctor who ranged attacks goes around the poison gimmick.

The game doesn't need more characters, tho.
Plague doctor sounds retarded
As some others have said, there is NO Plague Doctor class nor hero in Warhammer Fantasy, and it's not like taking some other class and tacking on items to it to make it something else. This universe is very strict in terms of its archetypes - You have Priests of Sigmar(Warrior Priests), you have High Elf Archmages, Priests of Shallya, and some others... There is a lot more destruction magic and that sort of thing than there is restorative magic in this universe.

And what if - WHAT IF - the plague doctor character is one of the rats?

Like a rogue one, helping the team for it's own agenda and making mean comments towards them the same way the group itself has it own problems. What do you think?

I'm not the best to comment about WH lore since I don't know all of it.

Nope, wouldnt work either. Skaven are fighting each other too, but they hate other races more and even follow a genocide plan to kill them all. It is very hard to get them under control escpecially in such large numbers. So never expect some kind of Skaven hero ever...

There are Plague Priests http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Plague_Priest
Plague Monks http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Plague_Monk

You can refer to this site for resources on what is and isn't in Warhammer Fantasy, among some other places - Suffice it to say, there is nothing of the kind you are referring to. The Skaven end up destroying the world essentially as well, and the way that ALL of them unify during the End Times story arc is significant because it's never happened before, ever. The skaven clans also fight with each other, but the unified effort that they have during this time period is basically the catalyst for the end of the world.

Also, if you want to read how it all goes down, go here http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/The_End_Times

Just be aware that, obviously, this will have spoilers.

Thank you for making my point, and I don't mean that sarcastically - There are no doctors of plague, only those who spread it. Nurgle loves you.
