Yep, sound is SUPER important, even music (which gives away hordes, packmaster grabs, and oggre spawns/fights); Please do not turn them off or run the game without them
Sometimes you hear the typical Horde Horn play and skaven don't come anywhere close for like an entire 30 seconds period. Sometimes even after beating an initial wave, half of them are still alive somewhere else, perhaps stuck, and will come for you later and then you will be like "oh ♥♥♥♥ where did these 20 slave nerds come from, they just violated my rear!".
True, you can still hear their massive stomping if they are grouped up, but people usually only tend to chill after the music goes away, not the stomping, which is actually better awareness-wise.
Same thing for Oggres. You may not even notice his spawning sound sometimes, or if he gets stuck somewhere for a minute or 2 you might even forget he's still out there. Music takes care of that.
Last but not least, unless you repeated the maps often enough and know every map kink, there are plenty of times where a horde can spawn without giving the typical Horn alert; Most notable examples being the gate-opening-defense such as the sewers on Smugglers Run or that ilusion place on Wizzards Tower. You might find yourself in the middle of the field and sudenly massive stomping all around you without a warning.
The horde and ratogre still make sounds to remind you they are still about, even if they are delayed.
that some of the sounds are bound to the music output is just hard to understand. But seems the best option is to adabt rather that miss out on the giveaways.
Arent you special.
Wish they fixed the sounds, used to be able to turn the music down. Can't do that anymore.
- Would be nice to be able to enjoy the soundsphere of the city without blasting the speakers or eardrums when a gun goes of or the horde screams at you. Should be players provokative to set.
