People, please stop playing without sound/music
Whats the point in there?
Turn off everything but the game sound/music. Im sick of players who cant heard a single rat in there back screaming or the pat coming near.

i think the same all the time. You must be deaf to not hear a packmaster coming, yet im the only player turning around all the time while all the other players only focus on the front. Btw they damage they get through the level ever is mostly dealt because of one rat coming from the back hitting them while they focus on only one direction. Something you could easily prevent with hearing and turning around from time to time.

I rebuilt my computer from scratch a few weeks ago and to test if everything was fine I ran Vermintide on highest settings but with very low sound just for testing; Damn, I messed up soooo hard, I usually do NM with 0 difficulty and am used to carrying entire teams, but without sound I was getting hit and doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all over. I got kicked from 2 games straight even x)

Yep, sound is SUPER important, even music (which gives away hordes, packmaster grabs, and oggre spawns/fights); Please do not turn them off or run the game without them

Sound is definitely a must in this game. It's also terrible when they can't hear voice. Typically, these are the players that are running off with no heal items while the whole time is tagging a potion and telling them to pick it up - I swiftly initiate vote kick on these types nowadays.

I don't find the music to be useful at all to be honest, the horn at the start of the horde is warning enough. Sounds are important, but I don't think they are directional for the special skaven?

Sometimes you hear the typical Horde Horn play and skaven don't come anywhere close for like an entire 30 seconds period. Sometimes even after beating an initial wave, half of them are still alive somewhere else, perhaps stuck, and will come for you later and then you will be like "oh ♥♥♥♥ where did these 20 slave nerds come from, they just violated my rear!".

True, you can still hear their massive stomping if they are grouped up, but people usually only tend to chill after the music goes away, not the stomping, which is actually better awareness-wise.

Same thing for Oggres. You may not even notice his spawning sound sometimes, or if he gets stuck somewhere for a minute or 2 you might even forget he's still out there. Music takes care of that.

Last but not least, unless you repeated the maps often enough and know every map kink, there are plenty of times where a horde can spawn without giving the typical Horn alert; Most notable examples being the gate-opening-defense such as the sewers on Smugglers Run or that ilusion place on Wizzards Tower. You might find yourself in the middle of the field and sudenly massive stomping all around you without a warning.

The sounds for everything is very much directional. All but the butter runner, anyway.

The horde and ratogre still make sounds to remind you they are still about, even if they are delayed.

any special have sound giveaway, even ambush and horde spawns. They can be hard to hear all the time, but they are there and are somewhat importaint for awareness. As said above, specials always make sounds as long they are alive and close enough. They dont despawn if left behind. So sound will tell you the hooker is still comming if turned on and balanced with other sound output.
that some of the sounds are bound to the music output is just hard to understand. But seems the best option is to adabt rather that miss out on the giveaways.

They could be heard if the sound wouldnt disappear from time to time...

i love that two things were mentioned, one that the game has hookers doing lewd things with you, and the other that there is a butter runner.

I really like the soundtrack, but it gets grating after hearing the same tracks over and over. It's absolutely not as useful as some people here make it out to be.

Wish they fixed the sounds, used to be able to turn the music down. Can't do that anymore.

Absolutly right, I wish the music could be negated all out without loosing key elements. Its just the way it is. But heres hoping for a more seperate sound option. Needs to be sliders for sfx, music, background and so on.
- Would be nice to be able to enjoy the soundsphere of the city without blasting the speakers or eardrums when a gun goes of or the horde screams at you. Should be players provokative to set.
