Authentication failed **SOLVED**

Hi, I thought I'd give a status update on our progress.

We have had our server team working on solving this issue all night last night and all day today and if all goes well there will be a small patch later tonight.

This patch will hopefully resolve the issue as we have found an error that could be what's causing it. If not, it also contains more logging that will at least give us more information to getting closer to solve this error.

We're really sorry for all unconvenience caused, though this is a very important patch and has been a bottle neck on a lot of new content for a long time, so it is important that we get all these issues resolved and back to a better working state rather than roll back.

I hope looking forward to the next coming free content updates will at least soften your judgement on the problems this last patch has caused.

Afore mentioned hotfix patch is now live (19Mb download). We'll keep monitoring forums and telemetry to see where to go from here.

Steam's servers are currently not answering to authentication requests causing us to not be able to identify users, thus barring them from playing. This happens from time to time and will hopefully blow over in a few hours as there is nothing we can do other than wait for Steam to resolve their issues.

We are still experiencing connection issues to Steam's authentication servers, not as bad as yesterday, but still not 100%. We are investigating further.. We will keep you posted when we know more, but will likely just have to wait until it blows over.

We're testing connecting to another set of steam auth servers. Internal tests seem to imply an improvement. Servers will be taken down at 13:15 UTC for switch. Estimated downtime 30 mins

We had this one too along with the rapid acceleration frame rate one last night, but at least the nil value crash seems to be sorted.
Keep plugging away Fatshark it does feel better already.

The bug is a result of the migration to the new backend servers. It was also the cause of the emergency maintainence yesterday. At that point when it was occuring there was no notification but any further progress after it had occured would not be saved.

At 7pm CEST the cause of the issue was still not identified, so to avoid risking having the servers down all night, this popup was added and the servers went live again. This way, the amount of lost progress should at least be at a minimal since the error fixes itself if the user relogs.

We currently have all qualified resources investigating this issue and will have it fixed as soon as possible.

Error comitting data

Anyone else been getting this lately and losing progress because of it? New to this game, but I'd finished a mission on normal (The one where you go destroy two rat nests then escape on the boat) and got the error message.

The game crashed/closed out completely and when I restarted it, the mission and experience was gone.

Go to game properties, verify cache integrity. May help.

They know this bug exist, they work on a fix for. Cache verification may not help. Its more a network story (like linked with their new backend imo)

Had this, too, right know. At the end of the level, no reward. There are a lot of network issues since the last patch.

That was the first thing I tried when the bug or whatever this is happened and it didn't resolve the issue unfortunately. Only played about about 10 or so games before the patch and never had the issue until afterwards. Perhaps the patch loosened something up on their end?

Hope it gets fixed soon.

Error committing data

Title says all , its a bug that occurs to me often when i finish mission and return to inn or if i am in group and i upgrade my weapons. After i click OK at error pop-up whole server drops. Wtf devs is that ?

Same issue here, although it is popping up when I am in the inn or loading into a map. Very annoying.

Same. Today Encountered it several times. Before joining lobbys and after game starting. Once the whole team after already rejoining lobby in turns had to rejoin running game : x

its been happening to me fairly frequently as well, roughly half the games I try to join, starting to really irk me

Edit: roughly 3/4 games have this issue, I think I will uninstall untill the devs undo all the damage they've done with this last update
