What's an easy class for beginners?
Also, is there an official guide or manual? I am totally clueless.

Reddit also has lots of useful stuff in its sidebar.

and really, you can't go wrong with any class. grab whoever strikes your fancy for starting, you'll eventually be playing them all interchangably. remember that whatever you equip on a character is the loadout your bots use when you host!

Bardin. Tankiest most defensive character available.

I think I favorited that guide to read awhile ago! ;)

I won't play multi-player, so I wouldn't be using bots though. Or do solo players use bots, too?

Bots take any slot not taken by a human player. So if you play alone you play with 3 bots.

Ah, ok. So the game is meant to be played with a party of 4. Are bots competent?

"Competent" if you're familiar with map geometry and how they interact with it. Not so much if you're new to the game.

don't worry about it for now, you can cruise with the bots up to hard mode just fine. just remember to stop every now and then to make sure they're alright.

and that they lose their damn mind around ratling gunners.

wait, I thought all the characters were the same save the weapons they use ? I mean like stats, The BW can take the same amount of damage as Bardin ( not with shield or gear considerations of course )

The only difference the characters themselve have is the height. Aka its easier for taller characters to land handshot than for bardin ^^.
The big difference lies in the weapon choice. There is no difference in HP.

Ahh ok thank you for clarifying it up !

Any "class" is ok for new player. Just look with which you feel more comfortable and then start to learn game. You would choose your favorite character in process.

If I had to make a point on who is not new user friendly ,that would be the Bright Wizard ,just because of the heat mechanic, its not rocket science of course but its just one thing extra you have to monitor and that probably wont be fun when trying to learn the ins and outs of the game. I would pick Bardin and Saltzpyre if starting new IMO.
