Well Watch is a DPS check. A single player alone cannot make the map a success on Cataclysm, even if they are amongst the most talented and their gear is as optimized for the task as possible.

Trinkets and weapons I would recommend as very helpful -

Bomb Radius
Bomb Dupe
Conflagration Staff
Drakefires
Hagbane

The usual anti-special, anti-ogre remedies are of course implied but I will list those as well -
Hagbane
Volley Crossbow
Trueflight
Handgun
Potion Share
Bolt Staff

To save teams that are struggling -
Bonesaw
Heal Share
Bomb Radius

blah. Good luck. :chug:

Thanks

I've done Well Watch solo on Nightmare, my advice would be to let the Tenement Well die, and spend time memorizing all item spawn locations. The Mansion Well is so much easier to defend and aside from that you mainly have to worry about massive CC (conflag is beautiful if you have a Sienna player) and the Ogre/SV spawns that happen after the first waves. I'd also recommend saving your bombs for the second half of the second wave, as those are very hard to deal with on Cata.

I agree with the the post above. Just to clarify - they mean let the first well you have to defend die. It is much harder to keep alive than the other, despite the fact that you have to defend the other several times more.

i think the first and most important thing to know is that the pailrats inflict damage on the wells at the beginning of their animation, not when they actually tip the pail in. so your planning should be around getting the rats killed before they reach the well rather than as they reach it, which a lot of people seem to do at first. the higher the difficulty, the more damage the rats do to the well, at about the same scale as they do to you.

if you're playing solo, you're going to have a stupidly hard time because the bots ignore rats that are ignoring them which means you alone have to clear out ALL of the swarms, and your loadout should be aimed at killing lots and lots of slaverats FAST and kind of hoping the bots help with specials more than usual. even waiting for one person before jumping off the ledge and starting the level will help you a lot.

if you can, equip a bomb duping trinket and try to only use firebombs if you think the well is about to be overrun. because of the well damage thing, this takes a bit of prediction. the ogre isn't much of an issue on this map since it's more or less perfect kiting ground in the center.

most importantly, take breaks. it's a really stressful level to get stuck on. play some other levels, ot go have a nap. maybe paint those minis you've been putting off if it's your thing.

Jackal's post is on point as f*ck. Wait for another player to connect before dropping past the drop down (this starts everything). The rats inflict damage on the well as soon as they begin to pour the bucket, not when they finish (kill them before the reach the well). Ogre *should* be easy assuming you know how to deal with him. Most don't. The main focus on this mission is horde clear, so if you're trying to clear it alone you need to rely on others to kill specials or you just need to take on all responsibilities yourself, which is not an easy task.

For the record it is possible to bait the bots into attacking the clanrats by putting them directly into the path of the horde, however the issue there is that leaves them open for the specials, so you don't want to do that. What I found that helps is to get the slaves to attack you on their way to the well while continously moving back towards it. This helps eliminate a number of them while slowing down how quickly they get to it, and it helps a lot in clearing them out before they spread out around the well.

All that being said, it is an extremely hard map to do solo.

Mod the game and use the "Stormvermin" Mutation

no. The conflag has better CC.

Im not even sure if it's possible. Tried it with a few people the other day and the game kept crashing. Or, we would just all die -.-

Pushing to succeed at a challenge is what this game's all about ;)

Time is going but some noobs are never change.
This panda guy is a joke, so as his "tips".
Back to 2016 he acts in same way when it comes for first solo runs. It was possible even then:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KhbZIpSlZIs

Later it was possible with some op buffed weapons in some patches even without bots.

Never listen to guy who didn't even try anything solo :)
