SPARKS AND BLOOD EVERYWHERE
I kinda thought the whole "actually private" thing was kinda cool. Keep people from actually joining when you don't want them even if they're friends or friends of friends.
Also the whole light manipulation could be useful for some maps *cough* dungeons/carrier *cough*
I assume Blend doesn't let you remove the darkness of the Dungeons? I mean, that would kind of null the point of a No Cheat version.
I'm gonna check it out in a couple minutes, I'm just looking over the whole thing rn. It has a pretty nice mod manager with easy to click stuff to install or not. I'm just getting setup mainly atm
EDIT: There's some cheaty options in there for sure(see chests through walls, yuck), but not a TON of them. The ban player tools are way better, and the rest of the options are pretty great. You can tell everyone put a ton of time into things and Lupo compiled most of them and gave credit to creators.
It gives you the best elements of the Grim QoL pack, and adds a bunch of additional stuff that I'm liking so far.
I mean give it a go and see if you like it, I haven't put it into play yet, I've just been browsing the mod options, and there's a sh*t load of them
Thats a true valid point.
The Blend mod was made for intension to give mod developers the possebility to have there own environment to be set. Just by calling one function. The Blend mod is distributing that environment between other clients to give everyone the same experience.
One thing is you dont want to change the darkness in Dungeon because it can made the map easiers. But the other hand you also dont want to limit mod developers to make there own environment for dungeon.
Update: I think i make a separeted BlendNoCheat mod that just disable environment change in dark areas and in the last part of Foolhardy.
ow oeps, i missed that. I will remove that next version. Thx for feedback.
We try to filter these cheat out and i will update this in a view days.
Cheers Lupo & Grim both
Dungeons- can see, but the blend option is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for outdoors if you turn the light on. Crazy harder to see any distance and doesn't turn off without rebooting the mod. Made for an interesting dungeons run though that's for sure haha
See Items: It's like the original See items but with a distance slider to change, BUT it doesn't change the distance unless you restart
Giant Ogre size: My ogre looked pretty normal
Enable Shields on rats: this is pretty f*cking cool, you can give all slaves/clans a chance to spawn with a shield and either turn their ability to block off, or keep it on.
Block options: You can block by low level, high level, or by weapons. It's pretty cool
Absolute Privacy: prevents anyone from joining at ALL. It's cool
Loot roll at the end: Doesn't give you extras of trinkets you already have. It's pretty good.
Those were the things I noticed just messing around with it, that stuck out to me. There's a lot of customization available through this mod and I like it but it needs a little tweaking. It's like QoL but a few more options and stuff that's pretty fun.
The easy part is to install via a mod-manager that's pretty standard. Much easier to keep track of than just having your files and remembering which are which.
it's close to being cheat-free lol
but then again all this f*cking modding is script-hook which is all totally cheating regardless of how anyone uses it.
Literally anyone who's using QoL or script-hook is cheating, it's not cheat free, it's just being ethical about it. If you want to pretend that Lua scripting isn't cheating go ahead, but if you script inject anything at all on a VAC secured game you'll catch a ban, because it's technically cheating lol
are you talking to me about this thread or just about his unwillingness to restrict the cheats this whole time?
personally I think this mod manager sh*t is about the best thing ever because not everyone is smart enough to extract a zip to the right place.
besides the couple of things I'm not using from this, it has all the QoL stuff that Grims has, and a few other options that Grim doesn't have. not to mention that this has literally everyones work in it.
