Vampires
Just a few questions about the vampires in the Warhammer world. According to the fluff, how often do Vampires feed, does feeding necessarily lead to the death of the prey, and is it at all possible for a Witch Hunter or even a Priest of Sigmar to be turned into a vampire?

Just speculating on the possibility of a Sylvania themed expansion/DLC. And somewhat entertaining the idea that Victor the Witch Hunter might even be a vampire incognito.

Thanks in advanced.

From what I remember, scattered around various books. It is implied vampires end up killing their prey in most cases and the younger a vampire is (in unlife) the more blood they need. Older vampires learn to use blood more efficiently. Also, one book said Vampires can only feed on human blood, as Elf blood is too thin and Dwarf blood too thick.
A Witch Hunter and Priest of Sigmar can be turned into a vampire, but that means they are not faithful Sigmarites then.

Sylvania themed might work as Undead have a Horde/Swarm theme to them as well. However, Vampires in Warhammer world are TOUGH. They are very powerful. A Blood Dragon Vampire Lord can be almost as strong as a Daemon Lord (at least back in 6th Ed).

Though not remarkable in canon, the Genevieve novels go in-depth on vampires. There's also some Ulrika novels after she stops hanging out with Gotrek and Felix that delve into vampirism and the different types.

Lahmian and Von Carstein mostly.

The Mathias Thulman, Witch Hunter series also has quite a bit from a Necharch(spelling?) Point of view.

Not remembering many blood dragons mentioned in books other than the Red Duke I think in the Brunner the Bounty Hunter series.

True to form, Games Workshop ripped off World of Darkness in most aspects of vampirism. Not that I mind. WoD vampires are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome and elevate the ♥♥♥♥ out of the WH world.

A mini necro, so excuse me for that.

Just finished the Drachenfels series and ran through the Ulrika novels this week, since the Drachenfels DLC peaked my interest. As far as I know those are considered canon.

According to the fluff, how often do Vampires feed , does feeding necessarily lead to the death of the prey?
As said above it depends on the vampire. The older they are, the more control they have over the Red Thirst, as described in the books.

The feeding doesn't necessarily lead to death. In the Drachenfels series, the protagonist, the vampire Genevieve has a human lover, Detlef, from whom she often feeds during love-making. (Too much details, I guess:Aste_Roy:)

Also in Altdorf, where the story takes place, there's a vampire tavern (Crescent Moon) with humans "working" as "barrels". Emphasis on working.

Datamining already mentioned Drachenfels as a possible DLC. (www.vermintidedb.com/datamining.php) And since Genevieve has strong ties to that location, we might see her a playable character.
