Is this a port? Is it a good port?

I have been burned with bad ports before, and I would really rather avoid getting another bad one. Is this a port? If so how good is it? If it's not what PC game would you compare it too.

It's such a good port that I've had a lot of issues with people trying to dock at it.

It is a great port.
the port is better than Dark Souls, but not as good as DMC 4 or 5. I would say it's as good or better Castlevania.

It runs solid... there's just a few limitations like 60fps cap and 1080p is max resolution game supports, though some people can't even use 1600x900

It's an okay port, but people playing on TV or with HDMI cables reported issues with the framerate/hertz, and the resolution won't go above 1080p, but seems like there is a mod for that already. Other than that the game runs pretty solid at 60 fps with slowdowns only if you start cutting too much like 500 pieces or more.

1) I don't see what framerate drops have to do with piracy.
2) I have it on PS3 already.
I think a demo or something would've been nice, considering consoles got one.

For a Japan-made port, this is exemplary. One major issue was fixed within 24hr (the online thing), the two others I've had I found a fix in 5 minutes (Forcing DirectX to always use 60hz on a 1080p resolution with RadeonPro fixed both issues)

Keyboard + Mouse support is great considering a game that was clearly made for the gamepad.

The biggest flaw is the resolution locking and the mentioned frequency issues that can be fixed. Both seem like they still can be patched out relatively easy.

Considering say Dark Souls, MGS2 etc or even freaking CoD:Ghosts at launch, this is a stellar port. With issues, but I am so suprised that I'd say they deserve the $30 just to show them that THIS is how you port cosole games to the PC.

And yeah, its all DLC and stuff for $30. Another advantage. Yeah, the game is old-ish as far as consoles are concerned, but seems like a fair price point for the PC.

TLDR: Capcom should hire these guys to make all of their ports form now on.

I still don't see where you're going. Just because you're butthurt about piracy doesn't automatically mean a pirated copy of something is the cause of framerate issues.

Sure, it doesn't, but I'm not going to go over why you could be suffering framerate issues with you and I recommend either buying the game or not posting any more about it unless you want some forum mod to come around and reprimand you.

It's a decent port. Only issues are lack of resolution options and the mouse cursor stays on the screen with a game pad when your in menus.

Other than those two issues for me it's great.
