You aren't supposed to waggle the left stick to break free

You're supposed to rotate it. At least that's what I realized once I took note of the input feedback that comes on the screen. Notice how when either the buttons or the stick appear on the screen, there's a "flash" whenever you press it. Rotating the sticks brings out a LOT more flashes than tilting it left and right, and is often more successful, naturally.

I seem to notice a lot of people get that wrong because the in-game input shown really is unclear. While rotating sticks is far from a good mechanic, at least it's a bit less damaging than tumbling it around like a maniac. Also, how easily you break free depends on how much HP you have left.

Any tip how to do this with WASD on keyboard? Because it appears totally random ._.
Im usually trying pressing it like that: WASD WASD WASD WASD, but sometimes it just doesnt help.
And sometimes even AD AD AD AD AD helps. So its kinda confusing when playing with keyboard.

WASD mashing works every time for me. The lower your HP the faster you need mash, the more chance that you'll fail.

I noticed jamming my stick into top right also makes it flash like crazy, At least on console, and yet i break out super slow, The graphical display therefore can't be taken seriously.

I can type WASD with three fingers perfectly and forever, but during the QTEs it just does not work for me. They made the same mistake like in Castlevania: Lord of Shadows. The keyboard + mouse controls are quite good, until you have to do these WASD "rotation".

When you have low health, it's nearly impossible to escape at ALL, though.. I hate Mastiffs so much.. They're the most annoying enemy I've ever met..

I don't care if this is off topic or not. When I'm fighting Monsoon and he throws the large pillar at raiden, i walk over it, hit the apc, and then I have to do what ? It says Y and B but it won't work ... Do I have to tap the buttons ?

Well I already beat the game so its a bit of null point, I bruised the palm of my hand jiggling the analog so much trying to break stuns when it never worked. Thanks though! It'll be good for when I go back for better scores
