Monsoon AI - Hard *spoiler*
This is my first playthrough and I chose Hard difficulty (seriously regretting that decision) and I just reached the room before the server room where the kid's brain's are being held and you've gotta fight the AI versions of the previous bosses. Defeating Mistral is easy enough but when it comes to fighting Monsoon it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare.. No chances given to attack and then when he finally stands still he goes into invincibility mode.. anyone have any tips on defeating him?

It's been a while since I played rising but you need to blade mode the the part with a red box to knock him to pieces then you can get a few hits in. (This was on 360 version not sure if changed)

Yeah I was just barely able to kill him.. no health kits and like 20 health left, but I got him. You gotta spam the ♥♥♥♥ out of parry and attack as much as you can while he's out of invicibility and enough hits and you can blade mode him to do extra damage.

I'm at that part right now.
It's very cheap from the developers to just recycle two bosses in a single annoying long fight on this stage.

Both are pretty easy actually, using mistral weapon for her fight will help you deal with the dwarf gekkos and just slwash away at her.

Similarly for Monsoon just be ready to block when he uses the block screen, slash at him afterwards and when he gets the purple aura either throw an EM grenade or use his Sai if you bought them (when unused for a period of time it's aura will change color and will stun the next enemy you hit) and use blademode to hit the head, then keep slashing at him.

To add, after stunning Monsoon and sending his head flying, equip Bloodlust (Sundowner's weapon) and charge the second attack and hit him when he gets up. Even on revengeance it takes ~20% (or more)

If you have too many RP grenades and don't know what to do with them, you can use them at Mistral fight to block the little ones from seeing you, leaving you and Mistral to fight one on one. Though you have to remember to throw few of them throughout the fight.

yeah, really frustrating to see the same people made this good game and also made such poor decision to put checkpoint behind closed door and put two annoying bosses into one ranked fight without checkpoint in the middle of that fight.
also it's cheap to regenerate a portion of Monsoon's health during his own big boss-fight right before he sends his first wheel-o-crap at you. just so ridiculous if you dropped his health to 35% it auto-heals til 40%.

Why is it a poor decision and why is it frustrating to you? I did this bit in under 10 minutes or so, knowing all of their attacks so I can always dodge/parry them and attack when I know they won't fight back. Must have lost only half my health if not less, and that was on Hard mode.

it's frustrating because it's just stupid to force me push button everytime i restart that checkpoint. and i did that too, in under 5 minutes with S rank, but lost about 700%+ of my health because of freaking camera and some weird annoying inability to lock on that Monsoon mimic, and that was on Revengeance mode.

to anyone struggling to S rank that fight - this could be achieved without no damage bonus. just try to slash as many tripods as you can and pick up the recovery bits they drop. enormous kill count and combo with pole arm can save that fight even if you get hit.

When I did that fight on the Xbox 360 on Revengeance difficulty, I used the Machete to kill Monsoon, at least it seemed easy with the Machete, I died a few times but nothing frustrating,
Haven't tried Revengeance difficulty on PC yet.

It sucks when I was trying to get the no damage acheivement for Armstrong and I forgot he had hit me in the last seconds of the second stage when Raiden has no sword and at the end, when I finished the game, there was no "no damage" score, and I had to repeat the whole fight all over again xD, but now I have that achievement, it was so good to kick Armstrong's ass >:3, even when it took me like 20 restarts.
