How to block

you can use ctrl to dodge

You push towards the attacker and press Light Attack at the same time. On the Xbox pad for example you would push the left stick + X at the same time. Doing it as the attack hits results in a parry.

You have to press the movement stick in the direction the enemy is attacking from and hit the light hit button (x). There is no dedicated blocking, and the ddge is unlockable. You have to be on your toes (and also read the in game prompts that tell you how to do this stuff -____-).

If you are on ketboard it's the left click and press like w what ever way it's coming from if you are on a pad same think really just with the x or square button in the direction the hit is coming from

There's an exploit in using the parry. Keep repeatedly tapping the W key and M1 at the same time (or flicking Up and tapping X button on the 360 controller) and you'll rarely get hit.

Also there's a lock on button. On the Xbox Controller that's LB. I found out in the fight against the dog :D There was no prompt about this

Parry was explained in tutorial. You just need to interrupt enemy's strike with your own.

But as for dodge... you gotta buy it from the upgrades menu, and there's a dedicated button for it (default "z", but you might wanna rebind that... i mean, seriously? "z" button?!).
It's very helpful, but i sure wish it just was on the jump button, like in DMC series.

I understand your confusion. I played the tutorial twice and still couldn't understand it. It's very difficult to understand which direction the enemy is attacking from. Then there's the geckos and other enemies which have different attacks I'm not sure are even blockable.

This is not exploit its the games design. Its just how block work, genious.
