CD Keys work even if the item doesn't exist in our stores?
I havnt and Im irish :? but im not the most observant to be fair. Id swear this was first game ever to not be on Irish store thats on UK store. I can just assume konami didnt do some license thing due to lazyness overlooking Irish market? anyways its in my game library so bring on the 9th!
The game is in my games list right now after I entered the key code from GetGamesGo, take that for what it's worth. Could Konami still ban me from playing the game? Probably. Will they? No, unless they hate money.
It all depends on the specific game and in some cases the specific region. Steamwork keys are handled on Steam in at least 3 ways:
1 - No IP block on activation, release, or playing >> These keys will allow you to play the game no problem, no matter where you are.
2 - No IP block on activation, but has IP block on release >> You can add these keys to Steam no matter where you are, but the game may never unlock for you if the game is restricted in your region. It will be playable when you are in a supported region.
3 - IP block on activation >> These keys will not add to Steam in your region. Will add in other regions, once added to Steam the game is likely playable in any region.
A mixture of all of these may be used.
I had games gifted to me directly on Steam before which have been handled in the same way. One of them, I was only finally able to play once the developer went bankrupt and Valve saw no further reason to restrict its use in my region.
So, while some keys for this game are adding to Steam without an IP block, that does not necessarily mean it will be playable at release. Be aware of that and buy keys at your own risk.
Merry xmes hope you all have a good day
God I hope this dosent end up being the case. PC gaming has managed to crawl back alot of its dignity over the years thanks to Steam hence why we get games like MGR on PC now. It would be a proper slap in the face(and ironic) if they use Steam to enforce their dumb DRM policies....the same policies that drove PC gamers and in turn the companies away in the first place.
Come on Konami! How lazy can you be in you cant even get your licensing issues sorted out. Its like painting your house but leaving large spots unpainted cause you couldnt be arsed...Besides I got my 1st Qtr gaming calender worked out: MGR until end feb/early march, then make a futile attempt to claw away at my backlog and then play Dark Souls 2 till the end of time.
Thanks for the information. So are the keys for this game in category 1?
No one will know what category this (or any other such game) is in until release. That's why buying it now is such gamble. I can give you a long list of games that remained unplayable for upwards of a year and a long list of games that were perfectly fine. But neither will mean anything as they are not this game. There simply is no way of telling what will happen until it releases =/
Proof please. The only such responses I've seen from Steam support have been threats to ban accounts if you're caught doing that.
