Ugh, the Voice Acting
Most of it is fine, but Raiden's voice acting is so bad, it's made him the most crigne worthy protagonist I think I have ever played as. I'd trade my firstborn to be able to change just the dialogue language and keep english subtitles.

Raiden's voice actor after a couple of chapters sounds like a teenager trying to channel Christian Bale's Batman.

How dare you insult my spirit animal Quinton Flynn and his dulcet tones. Don't you know that Raiden was a child soldier in Liberia?

For what it's worth, Raiden is pretty explicitly written as the hugest dweeb in the world who is constantly trying too hard to be cool.

The Metal Gear series is legend for cheesy, bad and over the top voice acting. It is a guilty pleasure of mine. The only issue I have with Raiden is the inconsistency of his tone. One moment Raiden will seem like a legitimate threat but other scenes he will come off as a Barney badass with a persona reminiscent of MGS2. I swear his voice cracks when he tells Sundowner to "stop!" in the opening chapter. I wouldn't mind a smooth evolution as he grows with the story, but some exchanges just seem really out of place. It could be the result of editing or directing missteps, but who knows. All voice acting is forgiven because of the final boss - man he has some great one liners.

Ohhh...yeeaa...hate to break it to ya, but...Reveangence dialogue is...English only...it was built around the English voice cast...no Japanese voice dub...sorry...

The first part of that guy's statement was actually correct. The dialog was written around the English version. The japanese dub came later. The choice of voice actors in Japanese dub did make monsoon sound more manly. But the Japanese Raiden sounds less crazy and more "unimpressed" in his ripper personality. And his supposedly trademark hysterical laugh doesn't sound hysterical at all, but is more like a general villain's laugh. At some point in this video, I even failed to tell Raiden's voice and monsoon's apart.

I never said he was wrong about that specificly. But he made the overall point that there's no Japanese Dub, so I posted the video.

100% agree. I definitely prefer the English VA for Raiden though, even with the comical edgy-ness.
The Japanese VA is just... wayyy too hard-boiled for wiry-little Raiden.
