Senaotor Armstrong
I cant beat senator armstrong. He's impossible. Everytime time he tries to recharge, and i try to cut him from behind. He always manges to catch my sword, and hurt me afterwards. Is this a bug. Another thign is that when he throws the piece of metal at me. I try and cut it out on blade mode, but it never works. Its really pissing me off. Any advice.

With the charging thing, you're supposed to Zandatsu his back. This will put him in a stunned state for a few seconds -- more time than it sounds like -- and you can pump in a good amount of damage. With those big metal pieces, you have to line up your cut with the little red boxes both before you run out of Fuel Cells, and before it hits you. Tricky, but using your mouse to aim the strikes is better than trying to avoid the projectile.
use the right stick

hmm, surprisingly, I think Sen. Armstrong was the first boss I beat so quickly.
Still, he's a tough fight, and I kept screwing up the line of red boxes as well (Im using a controller)
so I actually avoided it entirely by ninja running forward (towards Armstrong) like LDK Eona has said.
Also, what helped me a GREAT deal, is that I bought the white medical suit during the boss fight. Got 10 health packs. So i felt invincible. Im not sure if you have bought the white suit yet, though, I luckily saved it for an occassion like that, as I only had like 2 health packs going into the fight.
If anything, earn some more BP and get some damage and life upgrades, and health packs while youre at it. You'll lose your checkpoint though doing earlier chapter runs. Possibly VR missions for the BP (battle points obv) to get some more upgrades for the fight as well.

Still, tactic and practice is better than upgrades.
Try it a few more times, do some VR missions for parrying and practice parrying and tactics ON Armstrong.
Also, remember, if his eyes and/or body shine red, a PARRYABLE attack is coming. If he shines gold, there is no way to block the attack so ninja run and/or jump to avoid the attack entirely.
I jump to avoid attacks over ninja running more than some people, so you can try that.
Always stay moving and ninja run around him with a lot of light attacks.
When he stops, (or you Zandatsu his back, the japanese symbol that pops up for you to go into blade mode) put on the hurting and do COMBO's.

When he's recharging you are supposed to just cut the red square area, if you miss he does the animation of grabbing the sword. Same thing with lining up the squares when he throws stuff, it's just aim, if successful the boss takes damage. You can cheese it by just running forward and avoiding it as well.

Also, make sure game is running at 60 fps for that boss fight, otherwise some of those events will break (maybe that is your problem, I can't tell from your post).

Nope! No bug. Just really hard. I took about 50 minutes to beat the three stages in the final level. My friend took a bit longer. Just like any boss on this game, looks impossible, but then, you find his pattern and think: YES! I know how to beat him!

Is very important , that you take your time to cut his back (and the stuff he throws at you) in blade mode.
I beat him with mouse and keyboard with no damage.

We have talked about this before. You need to have your computer run MGR:R 60 FPS to beat the boss. Lower the resolution and/or graphics settings to make it happen.

This video explains the end boss "issue" for you. Armstrong is really easy boss battle when computer runs the game 60 FPS and you know what to do.

no WONDER I kept skipping the armstrong throw and I felt like I had no time at all.
Im running around 30 fps.

thanks for that. still beat armstrong but i can now see where some quick time events felt a bit off.

You're welcome. It's notable that this is also the reason for the higher end hardware requirements they listed at Steam store. High-end hardware requirements are not there because the game actually requires that stuff to work in the first place. Those things are there to ensure that the game runs 60 FPS.

However I don't think that the high-end requirements are an issue. MGR:R is very well optimized game and does run 60 FPS even on mid-end Intel Core i5 CPU and Intel HD 4000 integrated GPU. But you need to give up running the game 1080p. And run the game on lower end 16:9 resolution and with low settings. (95% of the game can be played in 720p when using HD 4000)

I can guarantee that because I completed the whole game on such hardware. It's a good port.

Hey everybody, i follwed everyones advice. I'm using a keyboard and mouse, should've made that clear. However when it comes to the last part with the QTE. My blade mode doesnt work.It doesn't allow me to cut his hand, so annoying. My settings are all on low.

My setting are

Resolution: 800*600
Graphics quality: Low
Antialiasing: Off
Texture filter: antistropic 2*
Blur:Off
Shadow: Medium
Zangeki: Medium
Zantime: Low

I heard somewhere you can chnage the frame rate. How can you actually do it.

Thank you again
