What to do after beating the game.
I just got done beating Armstrong, and i am hungry for more epic game play. is playing on hard a good idea? What else could be fun?

Edit: i just loaded up the game and clicked on my save file and pressed continue, and it brought me to the start of the game, what's up with that?

it probably started you on very hard? but yes, youre supposed to replay it multiple times for the difficulties and grind the bosses on their own ig

your save shouldnt be lost unless you click on "new game", which, well, deletes your save

MGR has a ton of collectibles and unlockables. You can have a lot of fun looking for those. There's also the challenge from trying harder modes of course.

Pressing on "continue" upon completing the game will start the game from R-00 on the difficulty level that immediately follows the one you just completed it on. So if you did it on Normal, the game will restart on Hard, and so on until you hit Revengeance difficulty.

I imagine that's because "continue" always resumes from your last checkpoint, and since the game saves after completing the final chapter, there is "no place" to resume from. So it starts from the beginning again. You can always override this by starting any individual chapter you like from the "Chapter" section.

Avoid the "New Game" option like the plague and use the "Chapter" option instead; that'll keep your save file safe, which means your upgrades, collectibles, etc etc. will stay. For the purposes of starting a new run, picking File R-00 from the chapter select screen will always be treated by the game as that.

For me they change automatically based on the last input the game registered. If I move the mouse, the UI automatically changes to display keyboard/mouse icons, and it's the same effect if I do any input with my Xb360 controller, which I'm using with an official wireless adapter. I mention it just in case since some users here use their controllers via Bluetooth instead, and it could be relevant info.

I mean I guess the "ultimate" goal would be to get all achievements. Most dominantly are the 5 achievements of doing all chapters in S-Rank on Revengeance difficulty, completing each DLC on revengeance in under 1 hour respectively and clearing ALL VR Mission (Regular and DL).

If you want to go even further than that, you can get all titles ingame. You don't need all titles to get all achievements. (Titles literally don't do anything though so idk. I only got all achievements and was satisfied)

I took the challenge and also got all titles, even the DLC ones. To be honest it isn't worth the time except if you really love the game cuz the most annoying titles are the ones you have to finish the game with all S-Rank at all difficulty levels which gets pretty repetitive. Especially when you want to get other titles that require you to beat the game in such specific ways that it conflicts with this grindy title. (eg. "finishing the game while being detected less than 35 times" and "finishing the game with all S-Rank")

Yea, they just didnt pique my interest enough to do them. Now, if there were achievements tied to them, sure, I would have gone on the grind. But its such an isolated thing that doesnt even do anything I don't care enough :D

An irritating title is the one where you have to complete the game over 10 hours, with 10 deaths or more and used 20 health suppliers or more.

I beat the game in 3 hours.

wow yea, 10 hours is a very damn long time to beat the game oO not like im sub 1 hour or anything but like 2-3 h seems very reasonable if you at least kinda know what you are doing. Getting that title would involve so much standing around and going afk, man that would be annoying

After you've S-ranked every difficulty, gotten all the achievements and titles, 1st ranked every single VR mission, you can also try making your own challenges for yourself for example beating the game with the wooden sword that has the -5 "upgrade"
