Your ranking list of Easiest to Hardest bosses to S Rank
I'm sure many of us have struggled with S ranking chapters. We all know Monsoon can die in a meme fire, but what bosses would you say you struggled with more than others?

If you need a reminder on the boss list:
MGRay, BladeWolf, Mistral, GRAD/Double GRAD on VH+, Monsoon, Sundowner, Sam, Excelsius, Armstrong.
(Not counting the UG Mistral/Monsoon fight)
EDIT: (Feel free to add the DLC Bosses, Sam's Bladewolf, Sam's MGRay, Sam's Armstrong, and Khamsin.)

My list from Easiest to hardest:
1. MGRay
2. Mistral
3. BladeWolf
4. Armstrong == Double GRAD
5. Jetstream Sam
6. Excelsius
7. Sundowner
8. Monsoon

-Armstrong and Double GRAD have some annoying attacks that are hard to avoid (GRAD missiles are unfair and you can't convince me otherwise), but you can retry the fight all you want until you no-damage it, and you got your S rank.
-Sam is like Armstrong but refuses to stand still.
-Excelsius and Sundowner are equal in that they REALLY make you work for the S rank, no-damage doesn't cut it. Not to mention if you fail without noticing, you have to restart the ENTIRE chapter over. Excelsius at least has a really short chapter, Sundowner's though...
-Monsoon starts his death QTE at 10%. The first time I got him to this point with no-damage, I thought he was going magnetic-mode and jumping back onto the wall to the cutscene.
NOPE, magnetic-mode surprise jump attack, and THEN start the QTE after I took damage. It took me several hours to get to that point again.

I added the DLC bosses too because, trust me, they need some hate spotlight.
Hope is not a problem.
I kept your template, so from easiest to hardest.

1. MGRay
2. BladeWolf (Story)
3. MGRay (Jetstream Sam DLC)
4. Mistral
5. Sundowner
6. Double GRAD
7. Khamsin
8. Armstrong (Story)
9. Excelsius
10. Bladewolf (JetstreamSam DLC)
11. Jetstream Sam
12. Monsoon
13. Armstrong (JetstreamSam DLC)

- MGRay is just easy, even in Revengeance (in the DLC is hard until you understand how to use the "Rage" mechanic).

- Bladewolf (Story) can be tricky at first, but then is a piece of cake.

- MGRay in the DLC is hard until you understand how to use the "Rage" mechanic. Until then, is just annoying because it keeps moving.

- Mistral is just annoying because of the little Dwarf Gekkos, but she has lots of checkpoints, so is not really that hard to restart if you get it by one of those little adorable bastards.

- Sundowner is exactly like you said, it just needs you to fullfill some requirements because the bossfight itself is probably the easiest in all of the game (reaching him is a nightmare, f*ck the "Elevator Assault" part).

- The GRAD is easy, but the Double Grad in very hard is annoying as hell. But again, in Revengeance you can just parry once the non-boss GRAD in there and end the real one.

- Khamsin is just freaking easy, but I put it on the 7th spot just because in hard, very hard and Revengeance has some freaking fast and unpredictable attacks, very annoying.

- Armstrong in story mode is not THAT hard. It's abit tricky to avoid some of his attacks, but is not really unfair, is just long as a bossfight, and so it's very annoying to restart if you somehow get it. But apart from that, is nothing compared to his DLC version.

- Excelsius is not really "hard" since is really easy to avoid the attacks. The problem is gaining the 3 mandatory Zandatsus to raise the points to S rank. Not impossible, but still abit boring.

- BladeWolf in the DLC is cheap. Like, is both hard and easy. Because if you beat it in the "normal way", is a psychological pain because of Sam. But if you beat it with the "special" ways, it's freaking easy. For instance, making him "Rage" and hitting him with a rocket launcher will easily make his hp bar evaporate. You can even pocke him to death if you get the good rythim, making some kind of infinite combo. I obliviously didn't know these tricks back then, so now I have PTSD.

- Sam is kind of easy if you are fast, or you play in Revengeance. But in normal difficulties or very hard is a pain. Not only you have to gain some points to raise to S rank from the Nanopaste pickups, but he also has this freaking stupid "explosive" attack that you can't predict in any way, and it can't be parried either. So you either learn to dodge to his attacks, instead of parrying, or you'll have some trouble.

- Monsoon is just challenging in normal difficulties (normal and easy), but becomes stupid to NO-DAMAGE in harder difficulties because it throws you TOO many vehicles, so you are forced to run away from them (not everyone knows that) since no matter what, atleast one of them will hit you.
Also, as you said, Monsoon LOVES to be unpredictable, and because of his stupid scripted attacks, sometimes you get fooled by a sudden change of plans of the boss.
Also, I hate when he divides himself in two, making IMPOSSIBLE to avoide damage if you somehow get cornered or just surrounded.

- Armstrong, as I said, in the story is hard, but not too hard, is pretty fun even in harder difficulties; but Armstrong in the DLC...
I don't know WHO made this fight, but was either:
a. braindead
b. evil

Is just FULL of bullsh*t attacks, sometimes you can't even avoid. Also, the requirements for S rank are pretty strict, and I remember beating him with no damage after 3 hours, and getting a B because I made a combo of 5 instead of 6. I remember being so angry to stand still silently for like 10 minutes, staring at the B.
Also, sometimes, you have to pick up the Nanopaste pickups to raise your score, and if you have a Beyblade man running aimlessly like a beheaded chicken on the map, is not really easy to avoid damage. And in the end, some of his attacks are a PAIN to avoid due to Sam's horrible parry and dodge (the camera in this game is the hardest boss not gonna lie).

I agree with pretty much everything on the above list except for monsoon, S ranking him can be way less of a challenge when you know that you can use emps on him when he goes into magnetic mode after jumping down from his vehicle attack, and that you can parry his vehicle wheel attack twice to chop it up and shave off a lot of time.

I agree with jetstream sam's armstrong, honestly the hardest boss in the game with keyboard/mouse. The best tip I can give though is simply getting a controller for jetstream sam's storymode, because his playstyle is dependent on dodging. I would recommend getting an xbox one controller because the button mapping for dualshock controllers is wack, but maybe the ps5 dualshock controller might change that.

And S ranking khamsin is pain, he has so many variations for one attack that telling which one he's going to do is agony.

Also for the GRADs, did you know you can chop both the homing missiles, and the rapid missile attacks? Same thing for the helicopters.

If you mean Blade Mode, admittedly i haven't tried since one of them is usually shooting you with normal bullets.
If you mean running slashes, I have, but missing a missile results in getting hit with splash damage, and you run the risk of accidentally hitting a GRAD while sprinting, making you bounce off and left vulnerable.

Oh yeah, to deal with getting stunned, I'd suggest using air born attacks, they're very effective against grads.

Oddly enough i'd rate Monsoon as quite easy although I haven't killed him yet on very hard, on hard it's only 3 vehicles which can be dispatched with horizontal blade spam.

In terms of S ranking, Very Hard can be seen as even more difficult than Revengeance, as all the enemy layouts and boss patterns are exactly the same, but Perfect Parries on Revengeance difficulty deal triple damage. (Since you go for no-damage runs, the enemies hitting harder doesn't change anything.)

I haven't s ranked all the bosses yet, but here's my list from easiest to hardest of what I've done so far:

1. Bladewolf
2. MGRay
3. Mistral
4. Monsoon
5. Double GRAD

Bladewolf was extremely easy, and I s ranked him the very first time I fought him on Revengeance difficulty.

Ray is mostly easy, but there were a few spots in his second phase that gave me trouble

Mistral was hard because of all the dwarfs and her spinning wheel attack.

Monsoon is definitely the most challenging boss that I've s ranked so far. However, once you figure out how to easily get past the vehicle throws and to use the pincer blades to skip most of the fight, he's pretty much on the level of Mistral.

Double GRAD crosses into the territory of total BS. It took restart after restart to finally beat them, due to the fact there were 2 and they were surrounded by explosives.

Here's my list, from easiest to hardest, of what I think it'll be like to s rank the bosses that I haven't done yet:

1. Sam
2. Sundowner
3. Mistral/Monsoon AI
4. Armstrong
5. Excelsius

From what I've heard, Sam is extremely easy to s rank

Sundowner looks a bit harder, since he can't be parry-countered and because of his zandatsu/kills requirements.

The AIs worry me, because I'll have to fight 2 bosses in a row without getting damaged

Armstrong's actual fight will be easy, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with the 2 "phases" he has on top of Excelsius.

Excelsius is already the boss fight that gives me the most trouble outside of s ranking, so I can only imagine how hard it'll be when the time comes.

Full list, with predictions included:

1. Wolf
2. Ray
3. Sam
4. Mistral
5. Sundowner
6. Mistral/Monsoon AI
7. Monsoon
8. Double GRAD
9. Armstrong
10. Excelsius

Don't know if Hammerhead is considered a mini boss, or a boss fight since the fight is pretty easy to beat.
FTZ35 Nov 4, 2022 @ 9:57am
Of the bosses that you can chapter select, Monsoon is the easiest to S rank, at least up to Very Hard. Haven't tried revengeance yet. Just disable the magnetic buff with EM grenade and parry the rolling garbage twice before blade moding it. The only problem is when he drops down at the start of phase 3.
Criceto Nov 4, 2022 @ 11:54am
I agree that Monsoon is the easiest to S-Rank. I S-Ranked and No-Damaged him on Revengeance by accident lol. DLC Armstrong is the hardest for me, he's the only one I can't consistently beat without Nanopastes. His attacks are telegraphed a lot but in the second phase there's just so few opportunities to attack that he can slowly whittle down your health by the attacks that you DO get hit by.
I personally ALSO agree. Now just to make sure im not a looser, did anyone else wanna break their controller their first time ever fighting monsoon? First time I played the game I thought Monsoon was the hardest boss in the game lol

On my first run I didn't have any recovery items slotted until Excelsus. Let's just say that I died quite a few times on Monsoon. But as a result. I got gud.
