How do I dodge?

I bought the dodge upgrade but I cannot figure out how to dodge.

If you got Defensive Offensive, then you press A+X/Square+X for controllers, and i think it's Z on keyborad. You will dodge in the direction your moveing.

It's not Z. He doesn't dodge when I press it.

Well it's Z by default, check you key bindings and double check if it saved you buying the move.
It's not just a dodge Raiden will sidestep and attack but it still dodges attacks.

Yeah, I found that out.

Too bad you cannot map side mouse buttons, it makes the "dodge" impossible.

yes, a button on my thumb, on the side of my mouse. I thought its a common thing nowadays

It is, it's just that Metal Gear Rising Revengeance doesn't let you map side mouse buttons.

It doesn't let me bind any of the side mouse buttons. What mouse do you have?

No, If I press my thumb button its as if I pressed the middle mouse button. Its binded that way with the logitech software thing. Ive got a G502

...Make sure you have it equipped. I had the nice little surprise of buying it and it not doing anything for the first 10 tries. I decided to go check, and sure enough it wasn't equipped.
