Does this happen in the same ''universe'' as phantom pain, ground zeroes... etc?
So I've played ground zeroes and phantom pain, and revengeance looks like a completely different game with a complete different concept ( or at least it feels that way)
So, are they all connected? I thought I should know before starting the game.

They do take place in the same universe, but storyline MGR takes place 34 years after Phantom Pain. if you haven't played the other Metal Gear games, lets just say ALLOT happens in those 34 years.
Also this game isn't a normal Metal Gear game, this is Platinum's take on the series, MGR is focused on the Action, where every other game is focused on Stealth for the most part.

Oh I see, that makes more clear. Unfortunately I won't be able to play the other games, cause I don't own the necessary consoles, but I'll watch some videos if not.

Well Metal Gear Rising is mostly it's own thing, you don't really need to know what happened in the other games. At least I think you should be fine.

You can play almost all of them on an emulator. Its actually legal too, if you own the games

I've never done any of this before, but why not, I'll get informed and see how it works, I might actually try to play all of them

There's like two ''Times'' in the metal gear games where things happens, Big boss Naked snake metal gear, aka MGSV and Snake eater, iirc, which happens in the cold war, then there's the Solid snake times which is more of present time, Revengeance is in the Solid snake era, more or less.

Ground Zeroes takes place in 1975, Phantom Pain takes place in 1984, Revengeance takes place in 2018 and Kojima has stated in interviews he considers it to be sort of a parallel future although that is debated and we will never see a MGSVI to know for sure.

Sorry but that would be truly the only thing that could tell us for sure this game is not canon

That’s actually incorrect unless you rip the game from your own disk, owning a game doesn’t mean you are allowed to get it online as well. It’s still illegal.

Yeah, but I’m just pointing it out. Using your own discs is fine, just don’t use anything from the internet.

it's a hack and slash game, like Devil May Cry
