Macbook Retina Metal Gear Revengence Error loading game

okay i have a macbook retina, and its storage is pretty terrible so i couldnt install MGR on it so i used an external hard drive with 1TB storage, i used to be able to run the game with no problems in the past but all of a sudden, when i start up the game and click play, it loads then a message appears saying "error loading game" i literally dont know what to do and ive tried reinstalling it 2 times with no change whatsoever

Me, too. I'm on an iMac (3.5 GHz i7). Have been able to play it a lot (70 hours), then all of a sudden: no more.

Am on El Capitan 10.11.6.

And same error, "Error loading game," when hitting play on launcher.

Its really stressing me out because I haven't updated the system and the game just stops all of a sudden reinstalling it doesn't solve anything, I even tried restarting the Mac with no changes either

Just bought the game and downloaded on my iMac, also got "Error loading game". Any solutions?

having the same problem, important note is that the first time i launch the game nothing happens, the launcher just closes. then when i try again i get the "Error loading game" message

I have the same error,

I supect that the problem is a internal update in this directory : /Users/[YOUR USENAME]/Library/Application Support/Metal Gear Rising - Revengeance Steam/p_drive/User/Application Data/MGR/

because I have new update files in this directory in 24 jan..2017..

I'm having the same issue. I just hadn't played in a while and wanted to load it up again, no changes to my machine or software at all, just stopped working. Tried reinstalling, updating, did a fresh install of my OS hoping that'd clear out any screwy things since I had been meaning to anyway, still giving the same error.

The online services are also unable to connect in the launcher.

Also seeing this problem on my 2016 MBP running macOS Sierra 10.12.3. Sent a ticket up to Konami. Hope this gets fixed soon.

EDIT: Konami's response was utterly useless. They don't even seem to know the Mac version of this game exists.
