Final boss cutting rocks

Hi I manage to come to Senator Armstrong and he is probably the best/worst boss I ever encounted and I haven played Ninja Gaiden, Demon/Dark Souls etc.

I manage multiple times where I come to the phase where he start to throw rock as you and I failed almost everytime sadly.

Sometime I manage to cut the rock the first time but always on the second time in blade mode.

I just cant manage to aligned the sword correctly to the four boxed within the time limited. Almost all of failed attemp is at the rock cutting phase.


Dodge is out of the way, because I could really use the nanopaste they drop.
I started the fight against Senator Armstrongwith with 0 nanopastes, and my charactere got like 180% health and all skill purchase and all blade and suit armour updgrade avail.

I play on PC without controller and only with keyboard and mouse.

I recommend quickly trying to line up the sword line with at least 3 of the boxes, rotating the mouse around, and then, instead of trying to swipe the mouse (as it sucks with keyboard and mouse), click the LMB, which'll swing in current direction of the sword line.

If you Ninja Run to the right when the Zandatsu symbol shows, you can avoid it completely.

I've beat revengeance difficulty with mostly As/Ss (some Bs and 1 or 2 Cs) using KB/M

I final manage to make the 3x cut on the rock and even hit Senator Armstrong when he jumped on him.I manage to quickly collect the 4x nanopaste.

I even manage to beat Senator Armstrong down to 40% health only to discover that he also had a healing ability and was quick back to 200% and I lost again.

To be honest this rock cutting part is the worst I encounter ever. I waste so much of time on it.

I think I manage to come to the rock cutting part in 40% of my attemp, in the last 60% I fail.

And in the rock cutting phase I failed like 80% of my attemp.

Its just so sad.

use blade mode on armstrong's back when he heals

Have you found those secret chests (with the blue lock) that lengthen your ability to stay in the blade-mode? I had a friend who didnt find any of those during the game and he also had some troubles with those rocks in Armstrong fight.

I final manage to defeat Senator Armstrong today. However I consider myself very lucky because I got a scripted fightscene where you hit him in the belly and where he jump on the air. Also after the rock toss scene I manage to hit him also.

Took some very hard work, but final manage to defeat him at least.

Just run to the left and you can dodge all of the objects. No cutting required at all.

Using Ripper Mode then procced to Blade Mode will increase the slow motion time.

just run straight forward. you'll be unscathed and ready to face armstrong when he jumps down

Ok, i write this from 2019, where senator kicked my ass, but finally I beat him, now I will describe how.
1. I use keyboard + mouse for fight and controller for blade mod
2. I take my friend to help me in blade mod, he clicks "q" when my energy is going to end
3. You can save the game in customize/vrmissions menu for example after successful blade mod, ypu just need to call a woman
4. I earn a lot of moneys in vr missions to make raiden stronger
5. When I collect a lot of healing stuff, I decide to avoid all senator flying rocks

He isn´t that hard in Hard. BTW cutting only one box stops damage. Even the last piece.

Naturally that won´t work well for Revengeance I guess.

BTW those aren´t rocks, they are parts of Excelsus
