Inferior? The majority of people who play games from japan that have been localized usually leave the voices in japanese and as far as anime goes the vast majority prefer the japanese version with subtitles in english, unless things have changed drastically very recently. Also the way the japanese language works somethings just cannot be translated properly and you cannot replicate the subtleties in english, english is a horrible language for nuances, subtleties, emotions etc...
That's really not true, and I'm not sure what your argument is. If dubs are bad because the spoken word is English, or Spanish/French/whatever, instead of Japanese but English is incapable of capturing the Japanese nuance, then how would the English language subs be any better?
Some people like dubs. I used to be like that. It's a lot easier to WATCH an anime when you don't have to read subtitles, distracting you from what's going on on the screen. I watched Made In Abyss with subs first time and dubbed when the movies came out because I wanted to appreciate the art. Sadly, I continued watching Made In Abyss and now my nihilism knows no bounds.
What I don't like is that the majority of English dubs seem to be done by people who work on Western cartoons and the voices all sound Scooby Doo to me. Japanese VA go all in. I've never heard anguish from a Western VA anything like a Japanese one, probably because Sponge Bob rarely gets that worked up.
What does the developer have to lose? These people were never going to pay full price for a game where they cant hear the characters speak so every dollar you do get from them is extra profit.
More importantly you lose all the emotion communicated by the tone of their voice. Imagine watching Date Alive and not even noticing Oragami's emotionless speech pattern because all the characters just sound like nonsense noises.
Random noises/sounds aren't racist.
You just didn't watch the good dubbed animes and got stuck with crap. Fooly Cooly (FLCL) Ghost in the Shell, Paranoia Agent, Stray, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Shuffle! are some good Dubbed Anime.
Up to you to give them a try, to see how well they convey their emotional lines.
He didn't say "random".
