Game rigged or actually random?
The bots are always getting incredibly lucky hands, from straight flushes to 4 of a kind, to a flush, to a full house.

I mean, on games where I'm at over 90% to win, the last 2 cards almost always give the bots just lucky hand.

Like I have 2 aces with a third on the board, the Bot had pair of 4s, and the last 2 cards are 4s.

This is really starting to get tedious, especially since we have to wait ages for the dialogue, that we've heard 20 times already, to end before we can move on.

Please...

I have noticed that too, they are really, really lucky, like 4:1 compared to a player. But you can always use ALT+F4 to get some luck on your side, especially during high stakes.

lol...
Lol, this reminds me of how in one of the Putt-Putt games the character Fatty Bear was a dirty cheat at the game go-fish. I will never forget the first time as a kid playing a game where the video game cheated.

But thanks for posting this. I was thinking about buying this game but now I'm not going to. I love poker but I hate cruddy games that give the AI the ability to cheat or just randomly get super lucky almost every hand.

I've had just as many blowouts as they've had. I don't think that the game cheats.

Maybe, but to get the last achievement is nearly impossible, it depends on pure luck only.

Well I'm not saying it's definitely rigged, maybe I've just been terribly unlucky, but is does seem a bit suspicious, and incredibly tedious because I've only got half of the items, and yeah I doubt I'll ever get that last achievement.

you could be tired maybe if you played at 6 pm
I've noticed that at least witih me, Sam get's a lot of consecutive three of a kinds or straights. I almost never get them, and he seems to get them often enough to make me question the fairness. The other AI also seem to get incredibly lucky on the river far more than I do. I'll be 99% to win, and then out of nowhere they get the exact card, suit and/or number to win.

If the game is a bit rigged, it isn'nt acceptable. I didn't buy a game to get cheated, but I also didn't buy it to win really easily either. I bought it to have fun, and regularly losing hands that statistically shouldn't happen at all, isn't fun.

yeah.. the bots most likely cheat.. when I have a good hand if I even bet/raise a lilbit they just fold.. if I dont have anything and I wanna bluff then they always call.. so funny, um wait.. no.

As someone who got all of the achievements pretty quickly, I think you just ran into some really bad luck. I've seen 4 of a kind maybe.. twice? In Texas anyway. My Sam is a wuss and folds all the time, Ash likes to bluff a lot but like Brock, will raise significantly on good hands. Claptrap is harder to read. Keep trying to learn the best way to bait them while setting yourself up to not have to go to Showdowns; you can fold on a good hand too if you don't have utmost confidence. The fact that you know what these %s of wining are means that this is happening to you often on all-ins. I stayed away from all-ins as much as I could, save for an occassional brash all-in near the start of the game to steal the blinds once or twice. :shifty:

And if things don't go your way... alt+f4 is your friend, haha. :Die:

Thanks Rory for the advice, when I get back in someday to try again I'll take it onboard.

It's a wellknown issue devs ignore.

I would love to support a conspiracy theroy as I've been victim (with other games - not this one) of cheating AI and/or the game weighted in favor of the AI. However, in my experience the game is pretty much random, and whether or not the player wins isa mixture of luck and skill at poker (or at least critical thinking.)

For example, I've had times when I've been trying my hardest and applying all my poker skills. And lost miserably. Two tourneys in a row. Then there are times like tonight. It's after 1:30am, I just finished a trouney that lasted only about a half hour. I'm sleepy and a bit drunk. I even nodded off in the middle of the tourney. And I busted Brock out the first hand, Ash in the fourth or fifth, Sam around the tenth and Claptrap only lasted another four hads or so. If the game were rigged against me, there's no way I should have won.

BUt if all else fails, remember the alt+F4 advice from Rory and several others on these boards. I've had to use that a few tiems when I've gone all in. But I think you have to do it before GLaDOS announces the winner of the hand.

thanks middle aged nerd. you made me laugh and also change my mind, i'll probably buy this now... i hope it is random, if not...well, i'll get some laughs and go back to my other games!

Sometimes it seems a bit rigged. I'd get crappy hands the moment I had a high amount of money and this was at like 5 hands in a row. Folding like crazy.

Then when I'm rather low on money I got a pair of Ace right away and I just raised a bit and EVERYONE folded. As if they knew I had something that could beat them. You could probably try to raise a bad hand and see what happens. Doubt they'll fold. Even Ash who will almost always go full in or raise fold when I got those two aces.

I wish it was just fully random because right now it doesn't look like that.
