Crashes when launches, Windows 10, 16 GB Ram, 2 GB Video card, game completely unplayable.

I would write a review to tell anyone with Windows 10 to not buy this game but with less than 1 minute on record because it never starts, I can't put up a thumbs down review.

I couldnt get this game to start either at first, i found solution for my issue. Same thing was happening though. On start, short screen prepare to launch and nothing would happen.
Here is my solution.

Right click on the game in your library, then go to bottom to properties.
click Browse Local files
Then on the application ( one with icon), right click that and select properties, go to compatibilty tab, select "Run this in compatibilty mode for"
I used both Vista (service pack 2) or XP (service pack 3) and both worked, not sure about others.

then I had to download a C++ redistibutal pack from

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

after you change compatibility problem and download from link, should work good :)

Hope this helps others with similar problem.

Thank you, this worked without me having to download the C++ pack, ie I selected Run in compatibility mode for Windows 8 and it started working at the lowest resolution. I was then able to change the resolution from the game's options.

hey, mine didn't work, i downloaded and changed to compatibilty, and it still says "preparing to launch Poker Night 2" and it keeps crashing like Tord said

You just need to install the c++ 2010 x86 package (even if you're running a x64 environment) no need for compatibility mode.

Wherever you want, it is a program to install

Here is a fix for this as well. may be expensive now if you don't own it already. Install the first poker night. Then install poker night 2. Thats what fixed it for me. Idk how and I don't really mind either. hope this helped someone.

I installed and ran the original game and can see it install Microsoft DirectX and try to install the C++ library that is missing from the Steam installer for the second game. Presumably, this is failing, because it briefly tries to reinstall the C++ library every time the original game is launched, and Poker Night 2 still does not open. Unfortunately, the 2010 C++ libraries are no longer supported by Microsoft. I've got the newer libraries installed but it does not help. This game is unfortunately no longer sold or supported.

I installed it recently on windows 11 and it ran fine, I didn't need to install extra stuff.
Weird

This issue seems isolated to Windows 10. I ran the game perfectly on Windows 11 on my 1st gen Core i7 laptop and while it was slow, it ran fine. I just downgraded my laptop to Win 10 to speed things up and thats when I started having issues myself. Seems to be something with Win 10 that causes the issues. It runs fine on Mac under Mojave (last OS that will allow you to run a 32bit program). I will try these fixes, but at least I can still play it on my Macbook Air under Mojave because I love this game.
