The game starts with a flashback from the beginning of the Nine-Tails' Attack on Konoha and then starts with the Five Kage Summit Arc, ending with an alternate turn of events in the Shinobi World War Arc. There is a non-canon game ending as well.

it wont include that battle. the pain invasion arc was basically all of Naruto Ultimate ninja storm 2, so unless konami think this game sells enough they MAY ( and thats a huge maybe ) release if there are enough sales and demand for it ( we could make a petition)

After finishing the game, you can play some battles of the past, such as:
Battle against Zabuza in the Great Naruto Bridge, the fight of Naruto and Sakura X Kakashi Naruto back soon after training with Jiraiya, and the final battle against Pain.
But fights are just normal, the same as VS mode..
