How to install Xbox 360 controller (issue on Windows 7 64bit)

Hello everyone I had an issue with my Xbox 360 official controller connecting to my pc so I thought id post my solution before anyone else had the same thing. I couldnt find anything on the internet.

1. Plug in the Controller to a USB Port. If the controller does not automatically install, go to step 2

2. Open an internet browser and go to
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows

3. Select “Controller” for product, “Xbox 360 Controller for Windows”, the operating system you are running and the appropriate language. Then click “Go”.

4. Click the link on the following page and run the driver installer.

5. Click the “Start” button and right click on “Computer”. Select “Manage” from the drop down menu.

6. Click “Device Manager” from the list on the list to the left side of the “Computer Management” window.

7. Find the controller in the list of devices as “Gamepad for Xbox 360” or whatever your controll is called and right click it.

8. Select “Update Driver Software…” from the dropdown menu.

9. Click “Browse my computer for driver software” from the pop-up window.

10. Click “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer” from the next window.

11. Scroll down to and double click “Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class”.

12. Select “XBOX 360 Controller For Windows Version: 6.1.7600.16385 [6/21/2006] from the list and click the “Next” button.

13. Click the “Yes” button on the “Update Driver Warning” window.

It should come up with a green light now on the controller and wahlah! you good to play NARUTO!!!!!
