Bug at Universal Brotherhood
I tried googling it but I couldn't find any other reference to it anywhere, when my character enters the Brotherhood building for the first time, alone, after the game loads up, I get the descriptive text at the bottom of the screen and then my character starts randomly walking around on his own and casting buffs on himself every time he moves. I can't control anything though I can open the PDA, reloading didn't help or going into the brotherhood again, I also tried checking the cache. Help?

Just ran into this. Playing for the first time.

This is not an annoyance. It is a game-breaking, critical problem. It is impossible to continue the game or complete this level for many combinations of characters. Recognized by the developer years ago. But they are simply not capable of fixing it. They tried, and failed.

Their talented artists and writers sucked me into the world. But their coders just took a dump on it all, at least this level. What an embarrassing mess.

I stumbled on this bug a few days ago. For some reason, restarting the level and/or loading the save won't solve the problem.

However, for some reason when I loaded a game from when I was still in the Union and ran straight to the Universal Brotherhood without hiring, talking nor doing anything else, the game worked properly.

I retried multiple times (with and without talking, buying, hiring runners) and at some point when it worked with all the stuffs, I manually saved the game.

Correct. Definitely not. That would be great, but no.

Did not work for me. Had to load manual save from Union (lucky I made one), get rid of any and all drones, and proceed from there. Much to my surprise, it worked. Made it through the Scientology building, and back to Union, so I should be fine now (according to others). Riggers absolutely cannot make it though that level, though.

Update: I've now played through all three Shadowruns. And... I regret these comments. Sorry, Harebrained Schemes. I never ran into one other game-breaking or even minor bug, at all, whatsoever. Dragonfall and Hong Kong are truely brilliant, and much improved in every area from Returns. SRHK especially. Congrats to HBS. And to anyone reading, continue playing, it's well worth it.

I had a success rate of 100% with 1 drone.

With 2 drones though, it was harder, though it seemed to work properly when hiring nothing, sometime. At some point, I still managed to hire and have 2 drones.

Edit : Of course, when I talked about loading an Union save, I talked about a manual save (I always manually save at the beginning of each level, so I could use the saves as a "Choosing level" menu).

December of 2016 and the bug persist.

The solution it work for me is that:

Type CTRL + SHIFT + F1 and will open a console menu.

Click on CMD on the Up Left and type "reboot".

The UB level will reload again and is suposed to appear the HUD to select companions and itens.

Now just keep clicking on "OK" buttons (import character, or something like that).

After this, the UB level will appear and the bug is gone.

Edit: i'm a Decker, not a Rigger. But i have one Drone, maybe this make the UB bug to me too.

Sorry the bad english :)

Hey there :D It's a good game with a couple of catastrophic glitches. Try going in whithout hiring, with only one drone, no drones etc. It takes time, but the game is worth it imo.

Did this, but then the game will still not let you pan, just allows you to use your character. Also your party members will be removed, so when you open the door to let them in there's no one there. If I have to pick a save to go back to before the Seamstress place I will lose over 4 hours of gameplay. ♥♥♥♥ this game.

You can use the Rewind option in the loading page to rewind an auto-save to an earlier version (aka. the Seamstresses Union, right before going to the Universal Brotherhood.

Year 2017 and the game still has game breaking bugs for riggers. Terrible.

How does that help a rigger? I still cant get in. My only combat capabilities are my two drones.

If you switch the difficulty to lower settings (just for this map), you should be good to go. Probably.

2017 and this bug is still here?

I cant progress.

Lazy support.

Yet another victim to this bug. Did the fix of rebooting in console but I lost my party as a result, so I have to solo with my drones which is nigh impossible. I don't have a save to go back to, and I've played this just long enough that I can't refund, so, what do I do here? Because kinda pissed.

Haven't played in a few years, but there should be the option of rolling back to a previous checkpoint... not installed so can't talk you through it but someone else should be able. Least that way you'll only loose a little gameplay and not force a fresh start.

...this bug is still not fixed. Shame on you, devs.
