Fairlight Excalibur in Dragonfall
in the Dead Man's Switch campaign i missed the opportunity to buy the Fairlight (i thought it will be available later, but i could not buy it anymore in the manor before the last mission).
Now i don't want to make that mistake again...
I just completed the MKVI extraction mission and i saw that it is still not available.
Can i buy it later somewhere in this campaign?

It is, I think after you give 50k to Alice and get to vendors after this

Honestly, I am not sure it is worth 7 INT/decking
Can anyone confirm I can do fine with 5 INT/decking until the end?

I had an easy time using the 7 deck on Hard mode, so I'm fairly certain you could do just fine with the level 5 deck.

consedering the amount of black ic youll encounter later on after paying alice i say the ivestment is worth it. Heres a tip bring as many AoE Blast programs has possible a lot of IC like to bunch up.

im not a fan of how the gear is staggered ...if you have the cash you should be able to buy it.
Fairlight Excalibur costs enough so if you do buy it it will be harder to get other gear so it balances.

It doesn't matter if you can afford the expense. Chances are you can't afford the karma needed to actually use it until you get far enough to unlock it.

In the end game you should have enough cash that you can't burn it in any meaningfull way. Cost will not be an issue. Availability should (and the game should have had a fixer system with contacts and such... but that's for another game I suppose).

The Fairlight will be available at exactly the point in the plot when it becomes painfully apparent that you'll need the best deck possible to have a chance in heck. The cash for the deck was a non issue since you'll get a rebate on anything over 50k in the Alice fund.

And yes, if you're doing your own decking you'll definately want the skill needed to use one. Dragonfall is far less forgiving than DMS in that regard. You need the best possible chance to hit with your skills, including decking, or you will have a much harder time.

ok i admit a minigun is a low availiblity item and illegal to boot, but a deck?
should be just a question of "can you afford it"

I think the high end decks (anything above like an Allegiance Alpha) were actually illegal in the original PnP game.

i cant remember legality wise, you may be right though would make sense
..i do remember they were very very expensive ...a lot more than 5,000ny

It was over a million before you factor in street index.
