Is it worth it for a solo player?
I played Diablo 3 and it was fun. It would've been more fun if they back ported game-pad support from consoles.

Anyway, since there's a free weekend and since there's controller support, I decided to try Diablo IV and, so far, it's not bad.

However, I see the whole "online" thing and I'm not sure if that's for me.

If I ignore the online stuff and play alone, is it enjoyable?

The sale price seems OK for just a dip into the experience. WDYT?

you can't really "ignore" the online stuff as it requires a persistent online connection, however you can play everything solo, the only thing that requires coop is the new coop-only dungeon but that's like 1% of the game

i have over 500 hours in the game only a few hours of those were spent grouped

There is only one activity in the game which cannot be soloed (Citadel) but it's optional and then there is a group finder if needed. The rest can be played solo :lunar2019piginablanket:

Almost 400 hours in and I solo played almost all of it. Just very rarely I teamed up just to farm bosses, but there is absolutely no need to interfere with other players unless you plan to raid the Citadel, which I don't since I play HC and I'm afraid of dying to mechanics.

But then again, the Citadel is optional and won't bottleneck you at all if you don't complete it.

It's great for solo and parties. Everything scales so you can even join parties with higher or lower level people and still have a viable time no matter how far along you are or they are.

I don't know what "online content" you're talking about though unless you mean the entire game because this isn't POE games where you only see people in town. The whole game is online so you can run into players everywhere and team up or just have fun doing the same events and sharing exp just because you're nearby.

You don't have to interact with anyone at all though if that's what you want to do.

Yes. I don't see a lot of "online" stuff if I'm being honest, you will see players in certain areas and events but mostly after you are a certain difficulty rank. I could care less about online games myself and this one doesn't bother me in that regard at all, feels like mostly an offline game unless you don't want it to be and want to join clans, team up with other players, etc
I've played every Diablo game solo including this. I've never played with anyone out of preference and I always have fun.

I play solo, no problem at all if you are not in a hurry. If you are inexperienced(noob) like me, it's like walking knee deep through mud, but you get there. I am lvl 53 now and I feel like it's going a bit faster now. The struggle is until you are lvl 60, because all the items you find are crap and the good ones are obsolete after an a few minutes. Don't forget to upgrade in town, like I did.
Cool. I'm gonna pick up at least the base game.

I like the story of Lilith so far. She's beautiful.

Is VoH worth it if I won't play online? I mean, I might get into it one day. Right now I want to shred enemies with my claws and enjoy the cinematics.

it's playable solo, but you'll need help if you want to progress the game faster. luckily there's an ingame matchmaking/party finder so you don't have to use a crappy discord for that anymore.

Play the campaing just for the sake of the story, for instance I started having the most fun once I completed it and got into seasons, it´s a nice game to hop in and have a blast killing waves and waves of monsters while tinkering with the build to do progresivelly harder content. At some point, it might get repetive to you and it will only be about few % here and there to upgrade and the fun might fall off. That´s why I switched to HC, it´s way more interesting and challenging that way and if your character dies, you get to play the best part of the game again.

My 2 cents. :)
The only way to play the game is solo. Most of the time other people are a hindrance. The only 2 exception are open world seasonal stuff and doing boss rota with everyone summoning the bosses therefore you get more kills for the same amount of boss materials used.

Sorry if this came across a bit arrogant. The game can be enjoyed fully whether you are alone or with friends/other people. They also added group finder with last season (season 6) so you can find others if you feel like it.
