there are already tons of lore videos out there.
and a lot of discussion in discord, forum & reddit.

even official diablo channel release some videos before the launch. which is also a nice summary for the story so far.

also people who loves story or their game. doesn't necessarily means they are a nerd

DIablo is a bad guy... Blizzard is downright evil.

What a great story!

There are several game-lore youtube channels out there that cover lore for games, specifically. I know for a fact that several youtubers that specialize in ARPGs have specifically targeted D4 for lore vids. ("Rhykker" is one, IIRC)

IMO, the story in D4's main quest shouldn't be considered canon. It's... an extremely bad story in terms of what a game would need. I do not know why Blizzard's creative department started coughing up blood with D3. (The story construction has, according to narrative and targeted consumer/player "logic," made it blatantly obvious that the story had bits that were rewritten or weren't complete but still had to be rushed to market anyway.)

Psuedo spoilers only:
MAJOR antagonists/bosses from previous games are put into this game just as a "oh, and look who we have here for our fans" with nothing more than a "random trashmob" miniboss approach. That is not "fanservice. That's Disney ™."

A MAJOR character in the lore just gets whacked offscreen 'cause... no reason, just 'cause. I do not know what disconnected person thought that would be engaging or "dramatic."

The supporting antagonist, who'm the character is driven to hate, is killed off by the main antagonist, who the player is encouraged to sympathize with... WHO THE HECK WAS THE EDGELORD THAT THOUGHT THIS MADE A GOOD NARRATIVE GAME EXPERIENCE?

hint: In a game, the player is the doer and the sayer and the action-maker of all the cool stuff. That's why they put their quarters in the darn slot... Or, $100 in this case. :/

And, other bits and pieces, but none that insulted me as terribly as those.

Chapter 4:
We got drunk and grabbed a roullete wheel to pick our next chater from the fanfiction section. It said "And then the forces of hell were taken over by Kerrigan, Queen of Blades...., BUY MY MERCH (Que dubsetep music)"
The end

"That will work ... right? Ya thats agreat idea, what do you mean that doesnt make sense? Youre just a hater! I was taught to ignore criticism.... I mean haters.. Im an innovator, this is what we do with every game. Continuity that adds meaning to the story? Who needs meaning and continuity when you can add short term shock value and offend people? Weve been doing this since Warcaft II, why would we stop now?

If that were the case. Why didn't anybody create a real wiki for D4?

In Dark Souls and Elden Ring. The story of the game is found in the description of items. Nobody got time for that. But somebody got time to read one item and type it in a wiki.

If you want to figure out what gimmick to use, take a step back. Today, Adults play more video games than kids. Novelty, or having them remember why they loved Diablo maybe one way into their minds and hearts. Which new big games are being played, which of those games look the best with the cheapest toaster?

Adults are gonna have jobs and money to buy things. They could buy a high-end gaming rig, but most don't. The cutscenes in D4 are real-time now, so you can see what your character looks like in them. All the more reason to market towards those that don't have toasters or find a way to get your game to run well on one.

Then there's this:

why do you suddenly need a history lesson reminding you of how many times blizzard bent you over?

Do you have mental problems remembering?

Maybe you into humiliation fetish?
