I'd imagine it'll play a lot better with a controller. It's harder on a kb/m setup to drive in games. You can't lightly press the throttle key like you can with a controller's trigger. At least, I've never played a game that let me do that. GTA IV comes to mind with how awful driving was in that. It was either 0% throttle or 100%!

i'm playing every game with cars on a xbox 360 controller because
i hate driving with wasd. if you are playing with keyboard you only can press w or s like on and off, so its always 100% speed or 100% break. with a controller you can drive with 25% speed or 50% speed and you can break slowly etc. the same thing for steering.

Honestly, whatever you're comfortable with. I typically play third person games with a controller, especially if driving is involved. I wouldn't suggest either over the other in this case. With the game being third person on foot with the option of first person in your vehicle it's a toss up.

I tend to play vehicle focused games with my 360pad, but i might go with M/K first with this one and see how will it plays.
I don't intend to go slow or brake and since there's aiming involved while driving i feel more confortable with the mouse, even with the slowmotion to help out.

No.
Of course controller! The game was made to work with controller, it is not an RTS, it is an action adventure, driving, and fighting game. What is the point of being the PC master race if you cannot game in comfort with a controller? Kick back, relax, maybe hook it up to my HD 120hz TV and enjoy it in a way no console can compare.

Though I'm still waiting on the Steam controller, that looks to be the answer to the whole "not as accurate" argument.

(I won't even mention fps games as the mouselook superiority is self-evident).

Of course Mad Max or any other driving/melee/combo type of game is better suited for a controller, but even then it is not without it's own limitations and handicaps.

Kingdoms of Amalur was just about controller perfection by doing just 'one' thing novel - the ability to 'toggle' running on and off by pressing the 'A' button, which freed your right thumb to be able to pan the camera and run at the same time.

The 'A button run toggle' should be an industry standard in all games if you ask me.

(But yes, I will be using a 360 controller for Mad Max).

Edit:

Games without 'LT' target lock can be especially annoying or games with camera auto-centering and auto-slope.

The keyboard is more of an issue for me in certain games where finger reach and pressing the wrong key while looking at the screen can spoil your day especially if you can't bind actions to your (4th and 5th etc.) buttons.

I mean how many times have we all missed the 'G' button to lob a grenade? It just depends solely on the game and it's control customization.

So you actually think using a keyboard in mouse is easier or more acuurate? Keyboard and mouse is not only annouing and uncomfortable but championship gamers have changed over from mouse ans keyboard to controller ever since scruff controllers hit the market bringing mouse sensitivity and programability to controller.

It's not worth 150$ imo.

BTW. I have Xbox One controller and i like it a lot, since i got it i am not really using K+M, so if i get the game i will be using One controller.

Controller. There's a lot of fighting and driving which is better with a controller.
